MAULANA AZAD INSTITUTE OF DENTAL SCIENCES - A CHOICE TO CONSIDER.

The course is vast and extensive but it may feel that it lacks recent information and developments in dentistry as dentistry is fast and ever evolving. The course does prepare us for future academic pursuits but does need revision to make it more relevant.

There is a one year compulsory internship following completion of academics. This refines our skills further and is also the time when mostly students join coachings to prepare for NEET MDS. Also the stipend is around 24k per month.

Maulana Azad Institute of Dental Sciences is one of the best institute for doing BDS, the course fee is minimal (depending on the year but it's in the range of 4k-6k and above that there are scholarship options also available!

Annual fests are must, various festivities are celebrated wheather it be Holi, dilwali or Christmas! The library has a good range of books and also provide books annually to those who meet some eligibility criteria and can't afford to buy books themselves. Lecture halls have AC. Projectors have now been replaced with LCD screens! Cricket, TT, badminton etc sports are offered in campus. Recently, student union of MAIDS has been established.

facilities provided in the room- the hostel fees is around 6k for a year which is nominal, rest furniture is provided. Electricity is free. Meal quality & menu is average. Registration is easy but allotment takes a bit time depending on your home distance from college. Hostels are quote affordable. To rent a room or PG mostly people option for KOTLA or DARYAGANJ.

I scored well and got MAIDS in first round itself, it's one of the best institute for dentistry and that's why I took it. The hands on experience is invaluable, being in Delhi, and many other reasons added to my choice. The overall admission experience was smooth.

Faculty to students ratio is good. Faculty is quite approachable. Recent introduction of digital LCD for teaching add an edge. The exam system includes internal exams, pre finals and finals. In case you fail, there is supplimentary exam conducted after 3 months.

Gym, cafeterias, library and public area everything is present in campus. Hostel- boys are curfew free. Girls hostel mostly have curfew after 11.30pm and rest intern hostels don't have a curfew. Campus is open, but nowadays safety measures are increasing. You can roam around the hostels safely at night, rest be a bit careful, gazebo, nesci etc are famous hangout places.
