Course Curriculum Overview

3

In the first year a student is supposed to learn about every engineering field so to figure out which branch is best for him according to their interests so it's not really that relevant it's just a formality and the main focus on your branch will start in second sem which would totally be about the course you choose , like in first we have study many irrelevant subjects like chemistry and biology even though i'm pursuing CSE so these subjects are just irrelevant to someone like me

Internships Opportunities

3

google , amazon , TCS , IBM , adobe and microsoft are avaible to offer internships but they have a really strong criteria but if you somehow manage to get these interships then you'll have for sure and guranteed placement

Placement Experience

2

well placements are significantly less on comparing to the strength of the students . to avail on campus placements students are required to join TPP which costs 15000 in students are eligible for on-campus placements in their third year so if the required condintions are fullfiled in the TPP like the 7.5 cgpa and no detainment , no back atleast above 70%in 10th and 12th board along with a nice resume so it's most liked that you'll be placed on. Off campus placements which comes under NTPP and the average package of cu is like 750000lpa but the highest are 1.7cr pa and 54lpa , many top tier companies visit CU like IBM, microsoft and amazon etc

Fees and Financial Aid

well the year wise fees for my course BE CSE - 272400rs but i availed 15% scholarship in the CUCET exam so i'll be paying 231540rs for first year and if i'll be able to secure 7.5 cgpa in my first year.

Campus Life

4

well the campus life is great as long as you are having a good company around you and CU is quite reknowned for their fest which are held regularly at every festivals and functions and many stars are called to make it memorable and the libraries are just great and available at each block and every book is available there but the main library is at D6 which is just breathtaking. there are wide varity of sports available in our campus and it's really great because i'm also very much involved in sports myself. here the social clubs are great i'm member of himachal chapter as well as of delhi chapter and of natti team too there is a whole block for this DACA - DEPARTMENT OF ART AND CULTURE

Hostel Facilities

4

hostel are good too as we pay 120000 per year lifts are available at every hostel except tagore and they turn off after 10pm food is great and hygenic and the menu consists of non veg twice a week which is great and the registration process is really simple just put out an application and just pay the half the hostel room compromises of beds and studytable along with almirah and balcony but they lack washing machine hostel life of boys are better as we have a separate bous hostel campus which compromises of 10 hostels and our food court is open till 12am and we can also order food from outside too but girls hostel are like prison they have to report in after 8 am and food court is only open till 10pm and no food deliveries after 10pm are allowed and all girls hostell are at different loactions hostels have all the necessary shops for the students and is really safe but wardens are just annoying

Admission

so i choosed CU over thappar beacuse i wanted to pursue my bachelors in computer science and in thappar i was alloted mechanical due to low score in jee around 88 percentile and the fee structure of thappar is signicantly higher than CU and i choose CU over jaypee because i wanted to study outside of himachal to get more exposure so the admission process is really simple you just have to pay 10000rs to secure a seat and then 2000 for cucet exam for the scholarship and you must be passed in your 12th grade but for cse specialization it requires minimum 75%in boards and just necessary documents like adhar card passport size photo and migration certificate and character certificate

Faculty

4

the faculty to student ratio is 1:30 so there is one teacher teaching a class of 30 students which really helps to focus on each student properly so my cousres compromises of 8 semester and it's of 4 years and the exam system are fair no cheating is allowed and if caught umc case is filed against the student which would fail the student in 3 other exams so it's really important to score in your internals as well ans your externals and in your end semester examination too

Night Life

4

well nightlife for boys hostellers are okay i guess but certainly better than girls as they are supposed to be back at their hostel by 8pm and their food court is onlu open till 10pm and no food deliveries are alllowed after 10pm but for boys we have our seperate boys hostel campus with food court which is open till 12am and food deliveries are also allowed and we can roam in the campus till 10pm . one gym is alloted for 2 hostels so it could be a little messy and crowded sometimes and study rooms are provied in each hostel and canteen and cafeterias are great favourite place to hangout are the fountain park and the FR at C1 and at D6 canteen well the localty is usually a bit safe but i'm not really that sure outside the campus but the campus is really safe

Placement Experience:

As a BE Computer Science student at Chandigarh University, placements are decent but depend a lot on individual skills. Students become eligible for campus placements from the 6th semester, and most of the placement process happens in the 7th and 8th semesters. Many companies visit the campus every year like Microsoft, Amazon, Cognizant, Capgemini, TCS, Infosys, Wipro and some startups as well. There are a good number of offers made, especially from mass recruiters like TCS, Infosys and Cognizant. The highest package claimed by the university goes very high, even above 40 LPA, but those are for a very small number of students. Realistically, the average package for CSE students is around 5 to 7 LPA. Mass recruiters usually offer packages between 3 to 5 LPA. Around 70 to 80 percent of students get placed if they are consistent with coding and preparation. Those who depend only on college studies may find it harder due to high competition. The university also provides training for aptitude, coding tests and interviews which helps in preparation. After completing my degree, my plan is to get placed in a good product based company. At the same time, I am also focusing on improving my coding skills and working on projects so that I can aim for better opportunities or even higher studies if needed.

I exactly don't know but after 4 th or 5 th students are eligible for internship and placements. Generally in 7th semester 90 percent students grab their internship. Many companies visit on campus placement like Capgemini, Amazon, Infosys, TCS, Microsoft and many more. Highest package offered is 64 LPA by Microsoft and lowest was 4 LPA. Almost 90 percent students get placed by 8th semister. I also want to go to a MAANG company after getting my degree.

1) I want to go in construction industry so i chose this field. 2) Currently our college curriculum is updated so its relevant i will say around 70 to 80% . 3) For improvement Faculties should be brought from all over india as professors here are only concentrated from ludhiana itself. and labs are very old it should be upgraded. 5) In a semester there are 2 monthly exams and one end semester exam. 6) As far as difficuly level of exam is concerned it is not much difficult if someone solved PYQ thoroughly.
