Course Curriculum Overview

4

I like mbbs because it is considered one of the most noble and prestigious course in the world. It prepares me for tackling difficult scenarios, quick decision making and handling emergency situations, deal with various social situations etc. Curriculum is okay, improvement needed in teaching methods - blackboard teaching should be preferred over powerpoint presentation. Overall 4 exams per year, they are easy to moderate

Internships Opportunities

4

One year of compulsory rotatory residential internship programme after 4 and half years of study in the hospital affiliated to the college. Stipend available - ?18,000 per year. Tasks - blood and other body fluid sampling, tracing reports, dispatching samples , iv cannulation, doing ecg, accompanying patients for various procedures, counselling, assisting surgeries, Foley's catheter placement, Ryes tube placement, wound suturing and dressing, writing clinical and investigation notes, attending patients in opd, etc.

Fees and Financial Aid

College fees on an average is ?1,00,000 per year Tuition fees -70,900 Admission fee - 1500 Gymkhana fee - 500 Library fees - 1000 Development fee - 5000 Deposit fees- Library deposit - 2000 Hostel deposit - 50 Caution - 3000 Sc/st/obc - all type of fees other than tuition fees, approx 12000 and a deposit of 5000 Scholarships available - punjabrao, shri chatrapati shahuji maharaj etc.

Campus Life

4

Annual fest - sparsh held in April month Books available in library - all ug and pg medical books Sports activities in my campus - cricket, volleyball, football, basketball, kho kho, badminton, table tennis etc. extracurricular activities are ug conferences, gathering, cultural meets, sports, drama quizzes, seminars etc. Student run social group - SEVANKUR

Hostel Facilities

2

Facilities - lights and fans, 2 cupboards and 2 tables, 3 cots per room Meal quality of hostel mess is bad, menu is not good, students prefer tiffin from outside Registration process is simple just pay 4000 in cashier counter and get the signature of rector. I didn't rent any pgs or room.

Admission

I applied for all the government medical Colleges in Maharashtra, but according to my rank Dr. VMGMC, Solapur was the best. I got SBHGMC, Dhule, but waited for further counselling rounds because I didn't like the city and college infrastructure. My rank was not good enough for getting government medical Colleges in Mumbai. First you have to crack NEET UG exam after completing +2 board exams. This is the only exam accepted for this course as of now, cutoff is about above 20,000 all india rank for getting into government colleges in Maharashtra through state counselling and about above 5000 rank through all india counselling .

Faculty

3

Faculty to student ratio is good about 1:20, faculty student relationship is good but faculties are not much approachable, students prefer approaching seniors for guidance. Dr. Mundewadi sir, professor of physiology, he is kind, helpful and approachable. Can't disclose whom I don't like. 2 internal assessment exams - easy and scoring, one prelims - Moderate and final university exam - conceptual and moderate to difficult

Night Life

3

Famous hangout places outside the college - oasis mall, high fly bar and restaurant, area 57, la addicion, cafe nirvana, cafe hangout, Laxmi dhaba, e square cinema, laxminarayan theater etc. Hostel timings - gates are closed at 10 pm sharp and open at 6 am sharp Gym, cafeterias, public area closing time - 10 am Library is open for 24 hours

Curriculum is highly planned and very vast. Regular revision is necessary to caver all subjects. All subjects are taught with high practical basis hence ensuring exposure and preparing for real life exposure. Teaching could be more consise and logic based. Main exams are every 2 to 3 months with difficulty slightly higher in term 2 than term 1.
