Remarks

It is a really good college. If you really want a peaceful environment free from politics and disturbances, I would say you can consider this college. There are scopes of improving your skills as well as your subject. You just need to be interested in doing so.

Course Curriculum Overview

4

Course is well-revised according to the capacity of the students. Though it can be improved. 3 years of BSc. is divided into 6 semisters. Each semister has a final exam and two internal exams. There are pass subjects for the hons. studenta which you have to choose. The first 4 semisters have pass subjects. Last two semisters only hons. subject is there. For each semister, we have to give 2 internals and one final exam for the pass subject too.

Placement Experience

2.5

Placements are not much, you can't really expect to be in a very good place after completing BSc.Some Banking companies or other not-so-much reputed companies come to our college for placements. They offer almost 10-20 k per month. If a student truly in need of money, he can join by giving interviews. No,my college doesn't provide internship.

College Events

4

There are a lot, I mean a lot of events organized in my college. There are some common events like cultural programs for all. And also there are independence day, Saraswati Puja like celebrations. Except that, every department has their own program. In physics there are workshops, seminars almost every month to increase thw enthusiasm of a student. I really enjoyed being there. There is also a tour conducted in every department every year. Overall, it has been a really good experience participating in those programmes.

Fee Structure And Facilities

Not so much expensive.. of course depending on which stream you choose. I find the structure okk.But for families with average income, it might get tough for some departments like microbiology. For Physics you have to pay 2500 Rs. per semister. But it can be upto 10000 Rs. per semister like for microbiology.

Fees and Financial Aid

There are many scholarships you can avail during your course. Scholarships like Inspire, Bikash Bhavan really helps you a lot during your study. To avail those, you need to have a good amount of marks in your H.S exam. Though, My family income is not under bpl so, I didn't avail those.

Campus Life

3.5

I am a Physics student.Of course, I will look into the lab first. It is really good there. You can't say the best but you can do a lots of works according to your department. Sports, I would say it is not of so much importance. But, yeah, there is a scope for that too.

Alumni/Alumna

Alumni Network is seriously helpful. I didn't find anything wrong with that. Actually, I didn't fully like the seniors. May be, I am a little introvert. But the seniors didn't really help me a lot. They were of good behavior though.

Faculty

4

They are really awesome. They help us like our friends and stood by us at the time of failure. Also, they are truly talented. We understand them really well during our class. Some teachers really are something that can't be described here, too friendly i can say. H.O.D madam is also very very generoy. I remember there was a issue of my attendance because of my illness. Our college assures you have at least 75% of attendance at the end of every semister. Though, I didn't have that in one semister, madam agreed to let me sit in the exam. My overall experience is really really good.

Placement Experience:

People who major in my department usually opt for masters over placement not because of this college but because overall industrial or academic opportunities are better with a pg degree. Masters from this college is not recommended as i have heard so from my seniors. Some of my seniors managed to crack competitives and secure MSc seats at great places. Training and Placement cell had a good coordinator previously but now its almost non existent. Companies do come and hire Bpharm, Mpharm and MSc candidates. Packages are below average. Only Nestle pays well. But if you do well you'll eventually climb up the corportate ladder. From the time i am here i have not heard of any BSc candidate getting placed. Most go for higher studies.

Placement Experience:

The average package offered for such roles ranges between ?2–3 LPA, while the highest package offered to a BSc student is around ?4 LPA, depending on skills and specialization. Overall, around 15–20% of BSc students get placed through campus drives, and many students rely on off-campus opportunities.

Course Curriculum Overview:

The course curriculum was well thought out as per me but there were subjects that i found absolutely unnecessary. Subjects like history evs and clc were in no way related to my course. Coming to the main subjects Design, Printing, Photography and film and Media Training were absolutely necessary for my course and whilst the faculty for some of these subjects were really bad, some were good. It is also important to mention none of these subjects actually helped us prepare for the real world. Instead internships and freelance helped us more than these subjects could ever do. Exams were held bi monthly to keep track of what we learnt and every 6 months we had our semester exams. Overall if you want to be a media professional INTERNSHIPS AND JOBS WILL HELP YOU MORE THAN A COLLEGE WILL. I am biased on this opinion as my college didnt provide me with the correct guidance and support i needed to make it in the real world.

In case of computer science department, placement is provided at the Last year of M.sc course. Many companies like Wipro, b10x, Tata visited here. Highest package ever is three lakh per annum. 20-40% of the students got placement after completing M.Sc computer science. My plan after B.sc is to pursue MCA.

* It's all about practical knowledge, we are getting from this course and another aspect is if you wants to make your career in research or lecturer then you should go for it. *No changes required in teaching methods but if college will provide hostel facilities and campus requirement drive, then it will better for candidates.
