Remarks

Positive is the beautiful infrastructure, well educated professors, well equipped workshop and labs. Negative and the darkest side of my college was that they didn't provide campus to single student of mechanical engineering batch of 2011-15.

Course Curriculum Overview

3.5

Course curriculum is fair enough and also professors are well educated and workshop facility is neat. Exam structure is best in Durgapur region because other colleges let students to do cheating in exams but my college is very strict in this field so it is a good point. Exam used to happen in every six months and it includes viva practical and projects.

Placement Experience

0.5

The worst part of my college was placement. Not a single person from my college of my stream got campus. They participated in pooled campus where more than 100 colleges participate. Internship is not provided by our college students do it by themselves if they get somewhere. This is the dark side of my college. One more thing they once organised a Campus in our college 40 students of my stream were selected including me by saying it is a core company but when after two months we were called it was a marketing company which was seeking 7500? security money from students and was a target oriented job. At initial stage they selected on an annual package of 3lakhs but at the time of joining they providing only 1.08 Lakhs per Annum. That was the worse experience ever in my life

College Events

2

Lack of management was there in this field in 4 years there was only one event in the name of annual fest. There was a specific fees for annual fest every 6 months we all were paying for it but no such fest happened. Only sports activity was organised every year. And also one cultural festival happened in 4 years.

Fee Structure And Facilities

At first time of admission it took about 90-95thousands for all the things including caution money and all that. At that time it was about 55-60 thousands per 6 months excluding hostle fees. Hostle fees was about 27-30thousands

Fees and Financial Aid

Scholarship is only available for those students who belong to west Bengal and to those who belong to backward communities only. Even those Students who were bright were not waved by scholarship facility. And about loan facility I am not having any knowledge honestly.

Campus Life

4.5

Computer lab and library was very neat and connectivity was good . Workshop was also very good all equipments were available there. There was a good atmosphere for sports. College organises sports week every year. Honestly speaking there was not such great environment for extracurricular activities. Management was not good enough. They take fees for extracurricular activities but no big event was organised in my 4 years.

Hostel Facilities

4

Hostle infrastructure is one of the best in Durgapur. It was neat and clean all the staffs including hostle warden were good and strict as well. They maintained very well. Atmosphere at hostle was good for studying. Mess facility was best in class.

Alumni/Alumna

Seniors were very much helpful. Though college doesn't provide internship they helped a lot by providing link to some esteemed companies the same thing we passed to our juniors. Seniors are the most important part in our college life they teach us those parts of life which are not written in any books. Real meaning of life is taught by our seniors. They give us courage they teach us to live life by yourself.

Faculty

3.5

Faculties are good as it is new college some more improvement is required. Most of them were doing M.Tech so there response to students query was good. Overall it was good instead of some teachers who were not that qualified many of the cases were in workshop which was not up to the mark.

Placement Experience:

People who major in my department usually opt for masters over placement not because of this college but because overall industrial or academic opportunities are better with a pg degree. Masters from this college is not recommended as i have heard so from my seniors. Some of my seniors managed to crack competitives and secure MSc seats at great places. Training and Placement cell had a good coordinator previously but now its almost non existent. Companies do come and hire Bpharm, Mpharm and MSc candidates. Packages are below average. Only Nestle pays well. But if you do well you'll eventually climb up the corportate ladder. From the time i am here i have not heard of any BSc candidate getting placed. Most go for higher studies.

Course Curriculum Overview:

B.Sc Computer Science Faculty: Student ratio is = 4:23 may vary a bit Faculty are well Qualified & Teaching method is okay good, but not to the mark like very good or excellent. The exam term was timely (sometimes it gets a bit late due to some natural disaster like cyclone, heavy rainfall, etc or any govt. & university delays), and the exam level is nearly too difficult, something like in between moderate to difficult.

Remarks:

The positive remark is that bhawanipur college treats every student equally and always try to provide students more and more comfort and facilities into the college. Moreover I have seen that bhawanipur college never stops any student from giving exams due to attendance issues or anything. There's no pressure of attendance in the college so students feel much reliable in this college.
