How is IIT BHU???

The course is well designed to provide you the conceptual knowledge and you will gain good understanding of the concepts through the course. But it focuses very less on the practical implications of the subjects.

Most of the students appply for internships in the third year when the companies visit the campus for internships and they provide a decent stipend. But the percentage of students getting internships may differ from branch to branch.

Placements of IIT BHU are really good if you comapre it to other IITs, despite having so much undergrads the college has been able to provide placement high percentage over 90%. Students are able to apply for campus placement in the seventh semester. Highest package in 2024 was 1.2 crore.

I am a student of general category, so academic fees for one semester in 1 lakh rupees (2 lakhs anually) and mess fees is 15000 rupees per semester. Hostel fees is 3600 rupees per year. If you from another category other than general then you have to pay low fees. You get a wonderful opportunity to avail several scholarships get be aware of them and check your institute email id regularly. Several scholarships are available for students belonging to management quota, SC, ST & OBC. Some of the scholarships are funded by college alumini and some international scholarships are also available.

Overall cmapus life at IIT BHU is great but it has few cons. There are many spots in the campus to chill. You will get exposure to many fields in the through various clubs. Many fests are organised throughout the year like Spardha, Kashiyatra and Technex. But being an open campus, it compromises with the student safety.

In first year and second year all the students live in the same hostel. From the third year students get their hostel alloted based on thier branch. In first three students live in one room and every floor has around 50 rooms. Hostel fees is minimal(300 rupees per month). Common rooom is avialable in every floor. There is one conteen in hostel with fixed timings.

To be honest I applied to this college despite having other options is due to it's fantastic placements. I am pursuing chemical which is core branch and median package of our branch is 19.5 LPA. You won't such high placements of a core branch in other IITs. The admission takes place in two steps which contains Hostel Registration and Profile Registration.

The professors of the college are well qualified and have great knowledge but they are unable to provide this knowledge to most of the studnets. This is mainly due to their teaching methods and low faculty-to-student ratio. Believe me, scoring good grades is not a piece of cake, the examination pattern is well designed which aims to test the thinking skills along with the conceptual knowledge.

Night life in the campus is really good only if you are not in first year. Entry to the first year hostel is closed after 10pm which is understood due to open campus. If you are not a freshers then you can hang out at ghats in the night and have nightouts. Gym, library, cafeteria and nearly all the shops close before 8pm.
