Things to know before coming to SRM

Mechanical engineering is so diverse we can do masters in any field we want so in future we have many options to do according to current situation.I think they take mech student lightly they can improve our classes and give some projects to do based on group activities. The ct exams are little tough and you have ho through teory the given notes and pdfs provided by your teacher.Feon there only the paper is made

I don't know much about the internships but it is in the 4th year they say that they provide you companies for the interships.I have heard that they give intership in 8th semester and it is mandatory to do it

After completion of intership in 8 th semester we have incampus placement from different companies in our mech department which includes tata motors,tech Mahindra,L&T Honeywell etc.our highest package was 1 crore and average package is 8 lakhs almost 90 percent of students are placed in our department.my plan is to do job for 2 years to be self sufficient and gain knowledge in my workfield and then do mtech in aeronautics

My 4 year course fees is 11 lakhs out which yearly fees is 275000 for btech mechanical core the registration fees is 10000 and there are scholarships also for people who are on their rank list depending upon their rank and my some of the friends got scholarship of 50,000 under the rank I am in main camps of SRM kattankulathur so the rank should be under 250 but the catch is you have to maintain a cgpa of 9 throughout your semester then only you are eligible

The best annual fest are milan pancea and others I have listened that much only and small events are going on every time by the clubs by classroom by other btech department or other departments.clubs organise fests events competition etc

Rooms are provided with ac or non ac and common washroom or attached washroom and we have 2,3,4,5 sharind depending on which hostel you are choosing.the food in the mess is not good.the registration process is simple we can do it in student porta with with Sem mail id the hostel are expensive though compared to pg and flats

I applied for vit but I got 54,000 rank so I was in 3rd slot and the fees was very high according to vit Bhopal and I think the mech department there was not good and I also gave mht cet in which I got 91 percentile but the result came very late so I backed off. The admission process of college is we have to give srmjee which is online based and clear it and we will get admission accordingly to our rank and there is cutoff critea which changes every year students can also get direct admission through their 12 th marks also

The faculty members are nice they teach us according to our course only they are very highly professional and experienced teachers There are total 3 ct exams for internals and one semester exam depending on the semesters students sometime find it difficult to give the exam as they are learning new things so either they are given assisgnement or retest

For boys gym is very small not very much equipments cafeteria are nice foodvourts are nice and we have one of the biggest library and the public area closing timings are 9 pm hostel timing are 9pm for boys and 6:30 pm for girls and campus timing is also 9 pm famous hangout places are gst food Street which is 2 kms from here or else slice of cafe located near srm hospital the locality is safe to visit in night also
