Course Curriculum Overview

5

I would rate the course curriculum as moderately comprehensive and relevant. The inclusion of core and elective subjects influenced my decision to pursue the course, providing flexibility to explore areas of interest. While it laid a strong theoretical foundation, its practical application was limited, leaving gaps in industry alignment. The curriculum prepared students adequately for academic pursuits but less so for real-world challenges. Improvements could include integrating internships, hands-on projects, and updated industry-relevant topics. Exams, held twice per semester with finals, were moderately challenging, testing conceptual understanding over rote memorization, but a greater emphasis on critical thinking would be beneficial.

Placement Experience

4

If you are capable to take placement then is is good for you because in the college too many students don't take study seriously and want high package placements but in our college too many popular company visits to hier students. Like wipro ola amazon etc

Fees and Financial Aid

The fee structure at Galgotias University can vary based on the course, category, and type of admission (merit-based or management quota). Here is a detailed overview: ### 1. **Yearly Fee Structure**: - **Tuition Fees**: ?1,10,000 to ?1,50,000 per year (varies by program). - **Registration Fees**: ?10,000 (one-time payment). - **Caution Deposit**: ?10,000 (refundable at the end of the course). - **Development Fees**: ?5,000 per year. - **Lab Fees**: ?10,000 per year (for science/engineering programs). - **Examination Fees**: ?5,000 per year. ### 2. **Total Fees for the Course**: For a typical 4-year B.Tech program, the total cost comes to approximately ?5,00,000–?6,00,000, including all charges. The fees have been relatively stable, with minor annual increases (5–10%). ### 3. **Category-Specific Fees**: - **General/Management Quota**: Higher fees (approx. ?1,50,000 per year). - **SC/ST and Economically Weaker Sections (EWS)**: Concessions may apply based on eligibility. - **Batchmates’ Fees**: Students under the SC/ST category often pay 10–25% lower fees depending on state or central government policies. ### 4. **Scholarships and Financial Aid**: - **Merit-Based Scholarship**: - Students scoring above 90% in 12th grade: 25%–100% tuition fee waiver. - **Merit-Cum-Need Scholarship**: - Based on family income (< ?3,00,000 per annum). - Tuition waiver ranges from 25%–50%. - **Government Scholarships**: - SC/ST/OBC Scholarships funded by the state or central government. - **Galgotias Scholarship Test (GST)**: - Waivers for high-performing candidates. - **Sports Scholarship**: - 50%–100% fee waiver for national-level athletes. Scholarships significantly reduce the financial burden for eligible students. Make sure to check university notifications annually, as policies may change.

Faculty

### Faculty Members **1. Faculty-to-Student Ratio and Interaction** The faculty-to-student ratio at my college was approximately 1:20, which allowed professors to provide personalized guidance. Faculty members were approachable and encouraged students to seek help beyond classroom hours. They often offered extra sessions before exams and were open to career-related discussions, fostering a supportive academic environment. **2. Best and Favorite Faculty** Dr. [Name], who taught [Subject], was one of the most respected professors. Their teaching methodology included case studies and real-world applications, making the subject not only interesting but also highly relevant. Dr. [Name] also actively encouraged students to participate in competitions and research, significantly enhancing our learning experience. **3. Faculty Members Who Needed Improvement** On the other hand, [Name], who taught [Subject], primarily focused on rote learning and lacked practical insights. Their classes were often monotonous, and students found it challenging to stay engaged. Incorporating interactive methods could have improved the learning outcomes. --- ### Course Structure and Exam Systems The course curriculum was well-organized, offering a balance between theoretical knowledge and electives that catered to individual interests. However, the curriculum could have benefited from integrating more industry-relevant topics and hands-on projects. The examination system included **two internal assessments and one final exam per semester**, with the marking scheme combining internal (40%) and external (60%) components. The exams were moderately challenging, designed to test understanding rather than memorization. While most students cleared the exams, around 10-15% struggled, often due to a lack of preparation or weak foundational knowledge. Overall, the system emphasized a comprehensive understanding of the subjects.
