- Campus area: the college campus area is one of the biggest among IP University colleges which allows the college to host various events which leads to a better environment within the college.
- Societies: there are a lot of student run societies which help in the holistic development and since the college has little interference in these societies, it makes the student more vigilant and responsible for their duties.
Dislikes
- Possibly the biggest nagative of the college can be its sports ground, the condition is not that great and regular complaints regarding its condition can be heard.
Course Curriculum Overview
The curriculum is pretty diverse and includes aspects of different subjects like Psychology, Finance, Calculus, Economics and language. The course focuses on latest industry trends and latest teaching methods and integrating technology. All the exams are conducted once your semester ends and each subject is given adequate time for the completion of its syllabus. there are students from multiple disciplines so all of them are not aware about commerce based subjects
Placement Experience
The college provides campus placements and more than 100 companies visit the college. The students are eligible for placements in the last semester and some reputable companies like Amazon, Accenture, etc. visit the college. The average package is around 5 lakh and the highest package went around 7 lakh for 2024. Around 60% of the students get placed every year in BBA, 80% opt for internships and some go for even higher studies.
Fees and Financial Aid
Since the college is affiliated with GGSIP University, the admission process is done in two parts. First part is includes the payment of University fee which for this year (2024) was Rs.96,000 and the second part includes payment of specific college fee which varies from college to college, the BBA course fee for first year students (general category) turns out to be Rs.1,54,000 in total. MAIMS provide financial support for the students in need under various schemes like Merit-Cum-Means LinkedIn financial assistance scheme and Scholarship by MATES (Maharaja Agrasen Technical Education Society)
Campus Life
The campus life is very vibrant and full of activities, there are various fests like INIZIO for the freshers and COMMFIESTA which is conducted by the commerce There are mainly 2 libraries in the college and both of them have various books and journals. The sports facility is also pretty good and there are various sports like football, volleyball, basketball, badminton, cricket, track and field, etc. There are more than 20 societies and each one of them is student run and all of them focus on different things, the societies range from social entrepreneurship to e-sports to music and dance. The classrooms are spacious and all the classrooms are equipped with projectors, the labs are also in great shape. There are also 2 NGOs within the college.
Admission
I applied for IP University colleges and some private universities but IPU was the priority. Due to my rank I could've gotten into most of the IP affiliated colleges but I chose MAIMS because it is already among the top IP colleges and it was close to my home as well. One can get admission in the college through 2 exams, one is the Common Entrance Test (CET) which is conducted by IP University and the other is CUET. To get admission via CET you must get a rank within 2000 and CUET admission is based on your scorecard though most of the students prefer CET for their admission because their admissions are confirmed first. The minimum eligibility is to have 50% at least, in your 12th grade and you must have English as a subject in 12th.
Faculty
The faculty of the institute is really nice and helpful and you can approach them anytime outside of their schedule. Most of the teachers have a doctorate degree and have a well aware knowledge of their respective subjects, the teachers' strictness depends on the students but all of them are really nice and sweet. I'm not aware about the student faculty ratio but it's somewhere around 20:1. The first semester exams are yet to be over so it's not possible to comment on the exam pattern but it consists of internals and externals, it is compulsory for the students to achieve the passing grade in both the exams. The internal exams are conducted by the respective colleges and external exams are conducted by the University and are common for all the colleges. The internal and external exams are conducted per semester so there are 12 exams in the whole course if you've taken a 3 year course with added practicals and projects.
Night Life
Not much can be commented on the night life since I'm not in hostel but the area within the college is safe at night and accessibility is also great due to the presence of market nearby only. The most popular hangout place within the college is the ground stands where different societies and student group promote themselves and students in general also hangout there only, along with that all the canteens are usually filled with chatters and buzz. In all, almost every single area of the college is filled with crowd and activities during the day time but not much can be said about the night time. The curfew timing is around 10-10:30 PM.
