Remarks

College management is fair but not that good. The college needs to improve their management facilities.

Entrance Preview

IPU is a semi-government university and there are many colleges which come under this university. Maharaja Agrasen is one of them. Agrasen is considered as the creamy layer of IP. I have heard that the faculty of the college is so good and experienced in their respective fields and subjects. Students are exposed to new methods of teaching and practices. Before getting admission in this college. Journalism faculty of this college is so experienced and helpful towards their students. There is no political environment and everyone is so friendly there. One more reason to choose this college is distance. It times 1 hour to reach my college and that's okay for me. At least, It's not as far as Narela or Janakpuri.

Course Curriculum Overview

3.5

Initially, lectures were so boring as teachers were focusing on theory part but later on, practicals merged up with theory and things seem on track. Radio labs, photography workshops, theatre classes are the best part of the course. At last focusing on practicals and theory equally is a win-win.

Internships Opportunities

No! My college doesn't provide an internship. But it is important for BJ(MC) students to do an internship which they have to find by themselves.

Placement Experience

0.5

There are no placement and job opportunities there. At least, not when I was the part of it. This is one annoying thing about Maharaja Agrasen. They haven't focused on placements and job opportunities for students. This is the one thing they need to correct on their part.

College Events

3.5

There are many good and amazing events organized by college. Feria is organized by BJ(MC) department as it is a film fest. Movies are shown in the main auditorium and the best movie get the prize. Social events are also conducted by college premises for teaching students the value of social issues such as greenhouse effect, women's day etc.

Fee Structure And Facilities

Fee structure of the college is feasible as compared to any private university. As I was the BJ(MC) course student, my fee is 75,000 in the first year and 80,000 in the second and third year. So, yes the fee structure is feasible. Moreover, they can provide you the security amount once you have completed your college.

Fees and Financial Aid

There is no good scholarship facility for Management students according to me but for technical students, they provide the scholarship.

Campus Life

4

Campus life in Maharaja Agrasen is no less than Student Of the Year movie and if you are a social person then you can also imagine yourself as Shanaya and Siddharth from SOTI. The gender ratio is equal. Extracurricular activities included many things and all are conducted at another level which is a good part. Agrasen is having its own Literature society which conducts debates and quizzes.

Hostel Facilities

2

I wasn't a hosteler but I know that the mess food, they provided was good and hygienic. If you are not a hosteler and forget to bring your own food, you can pay 50rs and get mess food. Hostel facilities in Maharaja Agradsen are good for boys as compare to girls as boys hostel is on college premises only while girls hostel is a bit far from the college arena.

Alumni/Alumna

Yes, the alumni network is always helpful. It helps to guide others in their respective fields and areas.

Exam Structure

Exam structure in Indraprastha University is quite good as they conducted exams after every two months. It helps students to recall everything and also helps them to score well in exams as well. Weekly tests are also conducted by teachers before semester exams.

Admission

In order to seek admission candidates must appear in CET (Common Entrance Test) College makes the selection on the basis of performance done by students in CET. Once you cross this Common Entrance, then the second step is to submit the fee through online/offline procedure to freeze your seat.

Faculty

3

Faculty of Maharaja is good but not all of them. Some are biased and some are exceptionally outstanding and in favor of the right thing. If you are serious towards your studies so they will definitely help you out from difficult situations. Although, teaching pattern is of the same old style the teachers try to give their best.

The placement cell of our college is functional and active. The chances depend on the course that you have opted for. The placements are really good for commerce, economics, Maths, Stats but for the other department's students it might be a bit challenging to find a company of their domain. The students become eligible to sit in placement from 5th semester. The companies that visit my college are Godrej, BCG, McKinsey, Nation with Namo, Blackstone, Accenture, KPMG, EY, citibank, microsoft and Amazon etc.

Journalism was first introduced in Delhi University at DCAC. The amazing faculty and a proper media studio makes Delhi College of Arts and Commerce a perfect choice for Jouranlism aspirants. The media studio has professional mics, green screen, cameras, teleprompter, switcher and other equipment required for real life learning. The classes are full-fledged, sometimes irregular. Exams are scheduled at the end of each semester. However, internal and continous assesment happen regularly.

The placement is fine in college. It is not a bulk campus placement like in most of the engineering colleges but it is pretty decent. The one who is smart and confident enough gets it. Companies provide a decent pakage to the ones who get placed.
