Remarks

Students don't have to interact much with the management, their main job is to study only but yeah, too much cars and rich brats. Rest everything is of great level.

Entrance Preview

IP-CET BJMC Rank - AIR 293 Reason because it's the best journalism and mass communication offering college in Delhi.

Course Curriculum Overview

4.5

The curriculum is revised every year with a lot of new topics being added every year and one final project is to be submitted every semester which is completely based on the research you did. The research topic is based on the subjects you will be studying that semester.

Internships Opportunities

No it doesn't provide internships, although it's mandatory in IPU University for BJMC students to do one internship in any media organisation every year during the course duration.

Placement Experience

3.5

No placement cell for BJMC as the name itself works for Organisations where you apply your CV. Off campus placements are a trend. most of the students opt for further education and a good number of students establish a start-ups. Free lancing is something every student starts performing right after coming to the college as the exposure level is very high in the college.

College Events

4.5

Small scale events organised by students every then and now. Spandan the biggest media fest of Delhi is the annual fest of the BJMC department which hosts numerous small events in it and also an international film festival called cinephile is hosted every year.

Fee Structure And Facilities

Around 70000per year. The fees includes tuition fees, university fees and other services that the college provides such as studio charge, library subscription, centralised air conditioning, smart classrooms, etc. Considering the services and knowledge offered the fee structure is feasible enough.

Fees and Financial Aid

I haven't availed any such scholarships but students can avail student loan from any bank and considering the good name VIPS has established over all these years it's not difficult to get education loan from any bank.

Campus Life

4

More girls in BJMC department than boys, which is a very good thing. Campus life is really happening as it's a professional course. Diversity is not of that level as 85% of students are from Delhi NCR only. Outstation students are still offered warm welcome and equal opportunities. Co-curricular events are organised every then and now like sports tournaments or movie screenings, etc.

Hostel Facilities

2.5

No hostel facilities are provided by the college so there's no point of mentioning anything about it. But now that I'm forced to write 250 characters, I have no idea what to say. And yes, the college canteen food quality is great. Must try iced tea and rajms chawal.

Alumni/Alumna

Alumni meet is organised every year where existing students and alumni/senior students meet and interact. They're really helpful and sometimes we can in their contact through our teachers only.

Exam Structure

Two internal assessments, one is a test series and other is clearly based on assignments submitted. College practical assignment are also there. End term examinations are conducted centrally by the IP university which includes theoretical as well as practical examinations. They are called external examinations as well.

Admission

First a Common Entrance Test, then counseling session. The form can be obtained by the official IP University website and then can be submitted with a fees of not more than 500INR. You'll be allotted an examination centre in Delhi only, write the exam, clear it and then appear for counseling sessions.

Faculty

3.5

Highly qualified and experienced professionals. Most of the teachers are post graduate or undergoing their PhD studentship. Many of them have a vast experience in the industry as well so it gives a lot of knowledge to the students. They leave no stone unturned to get the student to a new high.

Placement Experience:

The placement cell of our college is functional and active. The chances depend on the course that you have opted for. The placements are really good for commerce, economics, Maths, Stats but for the other department's students it might be a bit challenging to find a company of their domain. The students become eligible to sit in placement from 5th semester. The companies that visit my college are Godrej, BCG, McKinsey, Nation with Namo, Blackstone, Accenture, KPMG, EY, citibank, microsoft and Amazon etc.

Course Curriculum Overview:

Journalism was first introduced in Delhi University at DCAC. The amazing faculty and a proper media studio makes Delhi College of Arts and Commerce a perfect choice for Jouranlism aspirants. The media studio has professional mics, green screen, cameras, teleprompter, switcher and other equipment required for real life learning. The classes are full-fledged, sometimes irregular. Exams are scheduled at the end of each semester. However, internal and continous assesment happen regularly.

Course Curriculum Overview:

I would rate my course four out of five because in journalism is a field where people are not about so much. The main stream media does not show the real problems and challengs of the country. They live in a bubble of their own. Many of the times they provide miss information to the people which hurts the hearts of the people. They do not cover multiple aspects of media. The exams in the daj is not so hard you can easily pass it by just 4 to 5 days of preparation.

The placement is fine in college. It is not a bulk campus placement like in most of the engineering colleges but it is pretty decent. The one who is smart and confident enough gets it. Companies provide a decent pakage to the ones who get placed.
