Course Curriculum Overview

3

I just wrote my whole curriculum in the last answer. I chose this college because it has foreign credit based system, which lets students take any course they want to study outside their majors( The GER courses that I mentioned in last answer). I have done courses in psychology, philosophy, design, arts, languages, economics and finance even though my major is Computer Science. These courses are the options every student has in order to gain knowledge from every field and not be limited to their major overall. So yeah the curriculum makes us ready for any real world aspects. Course curriculum for Btech students can be improve in the number of courses they need to complete each semeseter. It is insane to handle 7 course in one semester, I am in my college from 9:30 AM to 7:00 PM its like whole day. These are just class timings, after college hours we have to go home and work assignments, vivas, quizzes, exams, etc. There are three semester in one year Monsoon semester( Jan - April ), Summer semester(May -Aug) and Winter Semester( Aug - December). Summer semester is optional. The mid semester exams are in Feb and October. End semesters are in April and Decemeber

Internships Opportunities

4

Summer Internships opportunities are available companies like IG Drones, Quicko, Smytten, etc gives 25k stipend for internships. I did internship under professor who offered 10k stipend and I worked on an advance deep learning research project where we had to develop a deep learning model for Identification of Mugger crocodiles.

Placement Experience

2

Placements are below average in comparision to the fees of the college. Eligibility criteria: 2.4/ 4.0 CGPA, no backlogs and placements starts from 7th semester. Name of the companies: IQM, Injala, Medkart, cyget one, Future First, Logik.io, Buchanan Technologies, 4good.ai, shipturtle, shipments, rtcamp. Highest Package of 2024 at Ahmedabad University : 13L/ annum Average Package : 6L/annum Percentage of students getting placed : 40-50%. I already have an internship, I am not placed yet because I want to shape my career in the domain of AI/ML and most of the comapnies came to campus were for Software Developer role.

Fees and Financial Aid

Tution year -wise fees(2021 - 2025): 1st year fee - 170,000 2nd year fee - 170,000 3rd year fee - 170,000 4th year fee - 210,000 In 4th year 40,000 extra for ISP course. ISP is a 3 credit course, one has to do in order to complete credits fullfilment. The BTECH fees has been increased to 350,000/ year after 2021. But our batch fees has been fixed to 350,000. Book fees: 5,000 per year BBA fees : 450,000 per year and their fees increases every year by 50,000. Scholarships: Ahmedabad University provides different scholarships like merit based and financial aid There is merit based scholarship that includes full fee waived for first three rankers in every batch mean first three rankers of Btech, BBA, other majors they all get their fee waived. Ahmedabad University also provides financial aid if any student needs, certain required documents are needed for proof of aid and then the process of aid starts. Many of my batchmates also apply for MYSY scholarship which is a gujarat government scholarship that gets 50% fee waived.

Campus Life

5

Annual fests: Tech Ingenium( Engineering college) in December , Chiasma ( Arts college) in February, Sports fest in March, youth fest in December, Panaroma ( commerce college) in February. There are three libraries and there is a special portal of library where a student can access books, journals, newspapers, articles, magazines, research papers, access to paid sites for free. All the classrooms have projector, seating spaces of atleast 60 students, microphones, central ACs, comfortable chairs. There happens to annual tournaments in each sport on campus for example, there is Ahmedabad University Premier Leaguer( AUPL), Football Tiki Taka league, Raquets for tennis, badminton, squash and table tennis. There are total 18 clubs at Ahmeadabad University namely sports club, management club, dance club, music club, theatre club, Film Appreciation club, photography club, food club, etc. Clubs are all handled by students and helps us maintain culture at campus with the academics.

Admission

I applied to many colleges in ahmedabad, rajasthan and mharashtra. I applied to Nirma, Daiict, LNMIT. I was rejected from Nirma and Daiict because their cut off was high and my jee rank was around 20,000. I didn't went to LNMIT because their fees is very high and it was far from my hometown in different state. So I finally went with Ahmedabad University they approached me. The admission process was nothing then becasue it was COVID 19 time so all I had to do was I that make sure I clear jee cutoff which was 92 percentile at that time and my score was 97 percentile. Eligibility criteria currently is based on GUJCAT and JEE mains score

Faculty

3

The faculties are nice, polite and helping. They are all approachable and gives suggestions, solves problem for studdents. Many of the faculties have their own research going on in their fields and AU has a research center in all domains. I did a great project in deep learning course so professor Mehul Raval offered me a summer internship under him where I worked on an advance research project which is one of the key achievements of mine in my academic journey. Some faculties I liked are Kuntal patel, Mehul Raval, Shefali Naik, Souvik Roy, Aditi Deo. I like these faculties because they are all masters in their fields and they showcase their expertise during the classes which inspires us to became like them and take guidance from them, also they help us in each and every way possible. Course Structure: Every BTECH student has to complete 146 credits in 4 years, almost all the courses are of 3 credits , there are 9 credits for internship. Every semester a student can take maximum 21 credits worth of courses. 1st year : 4 Foundation courses ( same for all majors ), fundamentals of computer programming, Data science, Mathematics courses, and general engineering course. 2nd year: Signals & systems, Digital Design, DSA, Communication, Probability & stochiastic process, Linear Algebra, DBMS, etc core CS courses with all this courses students have to take GER & Minor course. GER course: Every student have to complet 10 GER courses in 4 years. GER are not related to their majors but they are essential courses which are from every domain like biology, perform and visual arts, mathematics, humanities and Languages which every student should know. Minor: Just like your major evry student can do Minor in any major they want excet their own major. 3rd year : Operating System, Computer Networks, Machine learning, Computer Vision, Embedded systems Exams are toughs, the highest score is 50-60% every time but the grading is relative. Some students do fail.

Course Curriculum Overview:

The course curriculum is well-strutured and covers fundamental concepts in a clear and systematic manner. As a first-semester student I found the subjects helpful in building a strong base for futher studies. The syllabus balances theory with practical exposure which helps in understanding real-worls applications.Faculty members explain concept clearly, through adding more hands-on projects and industry-oriented topics would make the curriculum even better.Overall the curriculum is relevent comprehensive and suitable for beginners but it can be improved with more practical sessions and updated content aligned with current industry trends.

Placement Experience:

Placement in this college is quite good and it also depends on the grades of the students. Highest package goes to 14 lakhs per annum and the average package goes to 5 to 6 lakhs per annum. As the students enter into their 7th semester the placement process gets started and the students will go into th selected companies in their 8th semester and if the worked well their they can also get PPO which means that they can do their job for permanent time. Percentage of the students last time who got placed in big MNCs company goes to 87 percent and the rest students got their placement in some small company. My plan after my b tech degree is to get higher studies in Mtech by score a good mark in the GATE exam which is going to be held in February month.
