Course Curriculum Overview
The course curriculum is one of the most outdated ones. We are being taught what was supposed to be taught to students 10 years ago. The curriculum does not prepare us up to the mark to combat real world problems. Practical learning needs to be improved majorly. The exam part is probably the worst because all that the University cares about is the marks and the results, and not the mental health and stress taken by the students.
Placement Experience
Our college is offering placements but the packages offered are very low. For example, Accenture has come for the 1st round in our college. They are offering 3 - 4 LPA for non tech roles, to tech students. And they are offering the opposite to commerce students which really does not make any sense. If I am investing my 3 years of studies into computer applications, it is not to get into any sales job or something, it is to actually apply what ive learnt and earn something out of it.
Fees and Financial Aid
Per year fees is Rs. 1,50,000/- It includes all the things such as registration, tution fees etc. There are scholarships for students who scored good marks in boards There are offers for students who registered early for the course, called the early bird offer, which gives upto 22000 rs off for 1 years fee. There is sports quota scholarship too.
Campus Life
Fests happening in our college are really good. We have big and huge fests such as invincia, India Today mindrocks where big celebrities came in. Clubs are really active in our college and the department of student affairs looks after everything.
Hostel Facilities
Hostel was decent. That have pretty good wifi, security is good. Food was not good at all. Half of the times we ended up ordering food from outside. Registration process is simple, we can go to the college and apply from the hostel registration desk. The locality is like a village or an abandoned area which is not good
Admission
I did not apply for any other college. This one was the only college that I applied to because the college infrastructure looked good, the way they marketed this University on the website looked good which made me take admission in this college. Admission process is very simple in this college. You fillup and aplication form online on their website, they immediately select you for the interview round(which is just for formality, nothing matters in this round).
Faculty
The faculties of this college are not so great(except for a very few). They are approachable in their cabins but not every faculty is very helpful, all that matters to them is marks and not how we study and what the students have actually learned. There are 200 marks alloted per subject, from which 50 marks are for internals, 50 marks for mid semester exams, 100 marks for the end semester exams. This pattern pura the students into HUGE amounts of stress, especially during exam times. There are a very few faculties who actually care about what is really necessary for the students and their way of teaching.
Night Life
Night life around the college is probably the most unsafe since this college is around some abandoned area named rajanukunte. Hostel in time is by 6.30 in this area as it becomes very unsafe to travel outside the college area after that time.
