What Students Say
Likes
- The professors are friendly, Kind and Understanding.
- There was plenty cultural differences people from north east and Kerala
Dislikes
- The professors weren't very good at teaching though they seemed to have good qualifications
- There is no campus per say it's a building with around 3 other colleges
- The management is the worst and the faculty professors most of them don't even stick around a year at that college
Course Curriculum Overview
Our curriculum mostly only included academics other activities were very minimal and rare. The academic curriculum was from Bengaluru City University. And the new NEP Syllabus was pretty Good and almost matched that of the BTECH Syllabus. Fairly well I would say but only if we had good enough professors to teach us and properly convey these applications. I have a long way to make improvements getting better professors who have good understanding of their respective subjects. Other activities to keep the students interested. Trips or internships are to be provided. We usually only had one prefinals before each of our semester's exams they were fairly easy. But nobody really cared about them that much
Fees and Financial Aid
The yearly tuition fee is around 55000 for local students and 75000 for students from other states especially Kerala, West Bengal and other north-eastern states. The admission fee is around 10000. I haven't had seen anyone with a scholarship or much concessions.
Campus Life
we did have a fest annually but that was pretty much it. And a 2-day event fest. We are mostly encouraged to participate in events that are conducted by other bigger colleges rather than our own. The library was standard it had a good aesthetic to it but the books were pretty minimal and could've been better. But it's easier to borrow the books which we all utilised properly. we had a projected in most of the classrooms when we required one when we didn't have that in your class you would be switched for the period being to a class with a projector. It was barely used anyway. We had one sports meet in my 3 years there they were pretty random with events and fests. no student-run clubs or groups were included and was a pretty boring student life.
Admission
After my 12th I wanted to do my undergraduate program abroad but those plans didn't happen and I had lost a window of applying here for other good colleges. SBCMS was closer to my place and they had admissions still open and I didn't have much other choice so I decided to join. the admission process was simple just give the necessary documents and they'll set you up after you pay the admission fee. No entrance test or other forms of acceptance requirement. they did tell us we would have placements in the college during the admission which turned out to be just a lie.
Faculty
The faculty to student ratio is actually less there were very few professors and most of them had to take 2 or 3 subjects themselves. Especially in our course Bca we had 3 professors with over 8 subjects . Yes the professors were always approachable. Prof Shwetha BR would be the most appreciated professor that taught us she was cool. And understanding even though she was under a lot of pressure from the management because she was the HOD and taking over 3 classes for us and several other classes for different courses. there weren't many exams only one prefinals around the same time as our semester exams. Most students don't even bother to pass the exam even tho they were easy and no there's a large portion of students that have over 10 backlongs each year .
