Course Curriculum Overview
What made me choose this field is that psychology is a very creative yet underrated way to study a person. This subject teaches you all things that we may have doubts, this field has many scopes such as after Bachelors we could choose any field such as Law , management, or even continue in the same field. The real world examples are given in a form of case studies or workshops are conducted where other renowned psychologists come and take lectures for us.
Fees and Financial Aid
The year wise fee structure keeps increasing as the field we are in is also growing rapidly. For example the previous batch before me ( current 3rd years) have to Rs 55,000 per year where as my batch only had to (current 2nd years ) have to pay Rs 60,000 and the junior batch ( current 1st years) need to pay 92,000. The fees may keep increasing. As for the scholarship, you would be able to apply for any scholarship
Campus Life
The overall experience of the college is super fun. University is a place to create memories as well as some contacts. It is the best place to create contacts, where we will meet all kind of students each from different departments. Events such as Yatra, Mini Milan, the huge event MILAN all of these are so much fun and if you are part of these events ( participant) you would also be recognised. The SRM library is the second biggest after Anna Library, it has a wide variety of books and has books for all departments of SRM.
Admission
I had chosen my field ( psychology) even before I had given in my admission forms so hence I was clear on my college applications. The first mistake takes place there because most students aren't sure which college or mostl importantly which course to choose. The colleges I had applied for are Stella Maris, Women Christian College, Christ University and SRM university. For Stella Maris and Women Christian college I didn't have enough cut off for my course. I needed 95% when I had only 75%. As of Christ University we need to first attend an exam online which choose whether we go into the next level and after the online exam we get chosen for an interview. Most people fail the interview just like me. For each course the eligibility may differ as of my course I needed 55% as cut off .
Faculty
On an average the student to faculty ratio is about 1:100. Which makes it easier for both the students as well as the faculty members. Most of the teachers who join are experienced whereas there a few new joineea who also play a major role in a few member's life. There is no like or dislike since all of them are trying their best, and each teaching method suits different kind of learning. There are a total of 3 exam excluding semester per Sem. CT ( Cycle test) per sem they conduct 2 CTs and 1 model exam. These CTs are assessed for 50 marks later then converted to 20 marks for internals and the model is for 100 marks which is also then converted to 20 for internals. There is also an assignment given for 20 marks. Difficulty depends on how much u studied and how much u have understood. About 95-97% of them clear all exams and about 3-5% have one or two backlogs which are also cleared by the next exam max.
