SRM UNIVERSITY- THE GOOD AND THE WORSE

The course i took is cse core and I believe it will be of use in future but the problem is there is too much competition already and i wont be able to survive without giving my all . We have small ct here and there for internals and they are important . The thing I don't understand is we have subjects like mechanical and biology which has nothing to do with cse but we still have to study it .

The internship here is good but you have to work for it and be good at what you are doing . We will have to look for internships, they dont provide it like placements . And it wont always be a paid internship. Sometimes you'll have to work unpaid internships for some months before getting paid.

The placement here is pretty good , we can get internships from 3 rd year onwards but the placement is after 4th year . The highest package offered here is 1.08 cpa The average package offered here is 6 lpa And if you want to get a good enough package here you will habe to study. Hard and be productive in coding it will be best if you maintain a higher cgpa than 8 . Many companies come here like amazon, google, tcs and many more.

The fees for this year btech cse is 4,75,000 and it is a bit costly comparatively and the allover fees gor 4 year will be 19,00,000 rs and even after paying all this you will have to pay extra for semester exam , its like 4k per semester upto now. Yes tge fees will increase as tge years pass by next year the same course is expected to be 5,00,000.

The campus life here is pretty fun , we have all kind of sports here and there are tournaments as well it is pretty good for those who play . Club involvement is higjly recomended here if you have interest in anything as there are many clubs ranging from a to z . Thsy even take you places for the need as club representatives and all . The whole campus is aesthetically appealing and is fun to hangout with friends and parents will love this place for sure

The hostel here is pretty good but in summers it is boiling hot so do preffer the ac hostel . The food on the other hand is okayish the first month is the best food and after 2-3 months everything tastes the same . The best tgings are Breakfast- bread , butter , jam Lunch - roti , dal , buttermilk Dinner - mostly everything is good . The pg here are okayish it depends on what tou choose some places dont have curfew and sone have bad food and water problems but overall it is better than hostel .

I tried to get admission in bits and vit because they were the top college in private segment but I didn't make it in the bits exam and i got vit but it was an integrated mtech course so I preferred srm over that . Not only that vit is very strict. To take admission in srm we have to give the srmjee exam and we have have to wait for the results and there are 3 rounds or else we can get in from management quota.

The faculty here are okayish , some of them are young , some are chill but many of them are old and strict. They are more good towards tamil students because all of them are tamil , only way to communicate is English they dont even know Hindi . The course structure is like for every subject we have 3 cts in every semester for the internal marks and they give some other assignments too .

To be honest I haven't experienced it much , because i am in hostel and we have to be back by 9 . All we can go to is the small shops in potheri or there is a food street in guduvanchery known as tge gst food street which is pretty cool and affordable to go with friends.
