Course Curriculum Overview

3

I chose this course because i like to design and draw stuff. In college they dont really teach stuff going around in the present..More like things practiced in the past...we are doing rock cut architecture in building contestruction..So yes that old. We just have to do our researchs if we want to anything happening. They should teach more new stuff happening around in this field so know more about it which can help us study the markets and how to earn better. And the class timings are way too much like 9 30 am to 5pm is too much for the brain to handle. Also the exam frequency is doable but the question papers shouldnt be so lengthy could be of lesser marks.

Fees and Financial Aid

I pay 1.4Lakh Rs per annum. Registration amount was around 1000 Rs. We get scholarship from IPU university according to our scores we get in our semester end exams. Also if the overall salary generating in our households is below 20k per annum. Management quota students have to pay higher registration fee. Other charges are taken during the semester if any event held.

Campus Life

3

We celebrate festivals here, We could have good interactions with our seniors but now the college is just a construction site so no social life left. But we do celebrate festivals held in different venues because duh. We have good access to books and journals in the library. As i said we lack with many facilities though. No sports can be really played inside campus. We do have societies for different things like singing, writing, dancing, acting, events handling etc.

Admission

I got into this college through NASA examination. I wanted to get a college in delhi cuz i stay here. I also gave JEE for architecture in which i scored good marks but not good enough to get a college in Delhi so yes had to work with this one. Will do better for masters. I also got DTC Noida but it was far away from my place and also it was mainly a btech college and this decision of mine not taking that clg was a good one. I could have gotten SPA delhi but lacked from a 1000 rank :/

Faculty

4

There are basically 2-3 faculties for 40-50 students in a class. The relationship between us students and the faculties is different among everyone. Its kinda biased in short. U only get attention and good enough crits if u are liked by the faculty. Everyones approachable if we willing to. The facultied i liked are ar.Toshi, ar.Diwesh, ar.Deepak, ar.Jagmohan. Most of these are really good at teaching us stuff and make us learn new things and are really friendly towards students. The ones i dont like are ar.Kapil, ar.Abhishek, ar.Anubha, ar.Sagar. These ones are way too much biased and dont know how to teach stuff well nor do they have interest maybe for their owns reasons. There are 2 exams per semester....Mid sem and end sem exams..Mid sems are pretty easy if u have thoroughly read the topics and end sems depends some times easy sometimes difficult or sometimes mid. The course sometimes goes offtrack and slows down the pace which makes it a little difficult for us to cope up with but we do it anyways.

Course Curriculum Overview:

In the forst year the faculty will make you do completely dumb and irrelevant stuff which is mostly not related to the real life. You will surely feel like and think in a way that why you are doing all this, but slowly the curriculum will get difficult and would have real world applications. In the starting you should improve your drafting and most importantly you should procastinate your work and should learn the importance of time management.

I chose the course because of my passion for buildings, the faculty is very dedicated and teacehrs put in alot of hard work with the students. The gender ratio is impressively 1:1. The professors are from good colleges themselves and the teaching methodology is that of an experienced person in the feild. Exams take place annually, semester marking is done on the basis of internal assisment.

Course Curriculum Overview:

I chose this course because it is very practical, you don't have to be in class, you can go out, explore and learn. I love to draw and design. The faculty-student ratio is 1:40 Teachers are good and helpful .they all are architects and everyone has a totally different view of your design. There are 2 semesters, so 4 unit tests and 2 yearly exams, the theory exams are fine but the practical ones where you have to present your work in front of a juror are tough. it is not necessary if they'll like your design or not .so they can give you fewer marks.

Remarks:

Overall, there are lots of negative remarks on SPA DELHI. They do not even provide basic facilities for the fees they take. Even what little facilities that exists are very poorly maintained. The lifts does not work more often than not, the coolers for drinking water are outdated and filters unchanged, fire extinguishers outdated, poor parking facilities, no grounds for sports related activities, no air conditioners in the classroom for the unbearable Delhi heat, very poor provision of funds, non-existent placement cells, and the lists goes on.
