A brief intro to my college, IET Lucknow

The factors that made me choose this college was its joyful campus life as well as its education being up-to dated with the present demand of the skilled engineers. Also their strict actions against the behaviours of ragging are also good for anyone to join. Also, I chose this course due to its demand of skilled Computer science engineers in the tech field and also because I wanted to be the well reputed game developer known for its best work. The curriculum is best and totally upto dated regarding the trends of present day skilled engineers. They are also providing proper internship offers from the first year of the college with proper training required for it to pursue. There are various areas that needs the improvement in the course curriculum like the lectures should be taken in smart boards as well as laptops/PCs should be allowed inside the classroom as it will make it easier for us to make notes making it easier for us to be focused during the lectures. The frequency between the CTs is of one month while we get only 3 to 3.5 weeks for us to prepare for end sem which is quite low as some more time should be provided for us to prepare for the end sem papers based on its difficulty level.

We are being provided with internship offers from the very first year from the reputed companies like Google, Microsoft, Wipro, etc. If any student is not skilled enough for the internship programme then basic initial training is also being provided to the students which will later can be used by them to give them their required output.

From the end of sixth semester students becomes eligible for the campus placements as they had already been provided with proper internship offers from the very first year. Top reputed companies who visited last year were Google, Amazon, Adobe, Paytm, Wipro, Cognizant, etc. and 350+ offers were made last year where over 70% of students got placed last year. Lowest package offered last year on campus was of 2.8. LPA and the highest package offered on campus was of 49.5 LPA. Average package was of 8.2 LPA. Highest off campus package offered was of 1.2 CPA making it the highest package offered ever from this college.

Total tuition fees of my college for B.Tech depends upon the course you are opting. For specialization branches like CS-AI and CS-Self Finance total tuition fees is Rs.99775/- per year while for core branches and CS-R the total tuition fees is Rs.84775/- yearly. This tuition fees involves caution fees, registration fees, development fees, lab fees etc. Apart from that you can also apply for scholarship provided by college making sure that you must be eligible for it. If you are not eligible then you can also apply for other private or government scholarship program. Also our college provides us the special scholarship benefits for female students

The very upcoming fest of my college is Ankuran, the Technical Heist which is going to be held on the second week of November 2024 where there will be various technical events like Robo race, robo sumo, water rocket,etc. alongwith the social events like singing, dancing, roleplay, stand-ups, etc.also there will be sports events like matches of football, cricket, badminton, valleyball, etc. . Apart from that there will eSports matches going to be held of various games like BGMI, COD Mobile, Free Fire ,etc. . The range and accessibility of books is college Library is very vast as there all almost all books present covering the important topics of our college to our usual lifestyle. However it is difficult sometimes to check out the required books from the library. Overall classroom facilities are adequately perfect except for the fact that smart board is not present in the classrooms and also that there is no wifi facilities available in the classrooms. Sports events and competitions as well as various extracurricular activities gets held on a regular basis in our campus giving us the external exposure apart from our studies. The best social club for mentioning will be Parmarth which is a social club focussing on the problems faced by the kids of the nearby slum areas as they provides proper education for them. They also provides them with the basic necessities likes foods,clothes, stationary products etc. .

Room provided to us is properly maintained except there are some cracks on floors and some parts of walls. Also the walls of the rooms are needed to be painted. If you are opting for hostel in First Year you will have to share your room with 3 other students. Also there are only three cuboids/almirah which means the four students will have to share it among them. Meal quality that we are being provided by is very good and it's taste is also good. Their main focus is on hygiene and taste as well as providing nutrition to students. Menu also gets updated every month making sure that no item is being repeated for twice a week. Registration for hostel admission can be done at the time of physical reporting of counselling process of college admission after its admission is done. However the hostel is provided on the first come first get basis.

I applied for some top tiers and some low tiers NITs and IIITs for CSE or tech related branches. I got a confirmed seat in CSE and ECE branches for tier 3 colleges that's why I chose this tier 2 college which is also the no.1 college of Abdul Kalam Technical University as it provides better future career opportunities as well as outside exposure than those colleges. Since I had applied for some top tier NITs and IIITs , I also got rejections from those colleges as my rank of jee mains was not upto their cutoff. If I had scored around 25 to 30 more marks then I would have made it those colleges.

Faculty to students ratio is 2:75 as there are two sections divided and each section is being managed by 1 faculty member for each subject. Also the relationship between the faculty members and we students are very good as we both are respectful towards each other and considerate to each other. Also they are easily approachable and always ready to help the students. My favourite faculties are 1. KKS Sir who is my Maths professor as he is very skilled and experienced teacher making it easier for me to understand the tough subjects like Mathematics. Also he always helps us students regarding any official work of the college. 2. DS Sir is my favourite faculty member who is my Mechanics teacher. He is very thoughtful teacher to have as he is always considerate towards us students and always gives us enough time to submit our assignment. Also his lectures are very simpler and easy to understand also covering the important topics of mechanics at the same time. There are no faculty members who I really don't like but sometimes its difficult for me to understand some lectures of my Electronics faculty as well as sometimes its very hard for me to attend the lectures of my soft skills faculty as he is very strict but regardless of those things both of them are kind hearted teachers. There are total 3 exams taken in a semester which are two CTs also can be called as mid sem papers and 1 end sem paper. The syllabus is not so vast or difficult but the exam level is of around moderate to difficult level. Since all the questions of the papers are very good following the very basics of the topics striking to the important points of the syllabus.
