- The teacher faculty is fine, but it depends on your course, every building has different teacher faculty.
Dislikes
- The account and the management faculties are too rude.
- The locals are not very friendly and if you are not punjabi, it is not easy for you to make friends.
- Study vise, it’s a fine college, but most of the teachers are just locals, not professionals.
Course Curriculum Overview
I wanted to take BBA only, because i wanted to do masters afterwards, and also , i belong to a family business kind of a family, so that's why i took BBA. The curriculum will prepare you to be ready for some local internships or jobs in punjab, for big companies , you have to choose a better college, bitter but truth. There are many improvements this college can do, but talking about the curriculum only, they can make some better exams pattern and also they can replace local teachers with professionals.
Internships Opportunities
There are a lot of companies to give you interships, but i am pretty sure if you are a CGC student, you are gonna do your internship in a telecommunication kind of a company only. Yes they do get some good compnies in the college, and there are good opportunities for a job, but this college's highest packages are not something you wanna hear. The projects they give you might differ from course to course, in my course, i got a project for a survey, and i got 24 hours for it.
Fees and Financial Aid
Well, the first thing you wanna know is fees, so yes, this college is not as expensive as it sounds, for my course(BBA) it costed me 1.5 for the whole course, about 25000 per semester. For other courses like engineering or hotel management or MBA, it's not that he same, but also not too expensive, I know this because my roommate was perusing engineering only. Talking about the teachers and faculty in my building, they were fine, not too bad not too good, the account department or the management is not very helpful. Some teachers were just locals and they talk in their native languages which is not very easy to understand and if we ask them to talk in a language we understand, they get offended (personal experience) , might not be the same for everyone but the chances are high. The infrastructure is fine, they got 3 big gardens for events, they got a parking and they also have some food carts in the campus itself. The campus is so big, but there is no e-rikshaw or anything for some convenience so you have to walk and walk, like a lot. Also, there is very less medical support in the college itself. The college is mainly filled with locals, so if you are not punjabi, and you are an introvert, you might face problems making friends. Talking about ragging, I haven't seen any in the 3 years, and yes they are pretty strict for it, but still be careful from some local kids, because if you argue with them, even if you are right, outside the college, they are gonna warn you bad, very very bad, and you can't complain to anyone about it, even if you will, they will say it's not the college's matter. Well, I think that's enough details for CGC landran. Only take admission in this college if you are a local, punjabi . Thanks
Campus Life
The college arranges about 3-4 events every year, in any of there garden, which is in the campus only. The events are fun, you can take part in them too. The library does not have a very large or wide range of books, yes they do provide your syllabus books or some extra books for it, but you won't find any special or specifics you are finding, also there library is not very silent, its noisy instead. The college organize some activities like sports, e gaming etc but it's not very fun to take part in, because there sports infrastructure is very poor. There is no high tech in the college to get you a better experience, there are no projectors in the classes, no ACs , no ventilation, just a boring class with some noisy fans. There are no specific clubs i ever heard of, but y there are some regular events which might get you a circle of same interest .
Admission
I actually wanted to get admission in CU(chandigarg university) but due to a very silly reason, which can only happen in India, I am general category, so I did not got it, and then one of my friends suggested that CGC is a good college and that's how i chose this college. The admission process of this college is not very hard, there are some documents like, your 12th marksheet, your identity card etc , you have to submit and fill the fee for the 1st semester, and after a week your admission will be confirmed, for the exact requirements you have to talk to the admission office department.
Faculty
The teachers faculty is fine, but the only problem you will face is, they are locals, and the language barrier will always be there, some teachers are good and professionals, but some are just locals and do not know how to handle college students. The account and the management faculty is not really supportive, they will just give you rude answers and false hopes for everything. They will even misplace your documents , so be careful giving your originals. Talking about exams, there are about 3 mst's per semester and the mid term and the final. The patterns are almost same every year or every two year. Well , the difficulty of the exam depends on your course.
