Remarks
The accounts office has only two windows and the college has numerous students. Paying fee or fine becomes a lengthy process because of the long lines. There is mismanagement in that case. And student exchange program is also absent. No internships also is a drawback.
Entrance Preview
I chose to do BBA in this college because it is the best college in Amritsar and one of the best colleges in North India. My reason for choosing BBA particularly was because the college has a good faculty in Commerce and there are a lot of opportunities available. I am currently studying in 2nd year. I scored 65% in 1st year. The interview and admission process is very simple and the teachers give you the best help and guidance. However, there are numerous courses available and additional diplomas as well. Being a women's college it is very safe and very strict.
Course Curriculum Overview
The course is taught very well in college and there is no necessity for any additional tuitions because the teachers are well educated and supportive. The course has a lot of theory in it and less practical. However, the Seminar conducted by students is a good practice. There are no internships provided and there is no student exchange system in the college.
Internships Opportunities
No, they don't provide internships. However, students still do internships at their personal level. They also take a lot of time to sign a recommendation letter.
Placement Experience
Five to six companies come to interview and mostly pick up students but some students do not grab this opportunity because of low scales of income packages. For eg. 1,20,000 p.a is the lowest. However big companies like Wipro also approach depending on their year to year market value.
College Events
Almost all functions are celebrated in the college. Events related to feminism, health, girl power, safety in driving, voting rights, entrepreneurship, inter-college events, fashion show, freshers, farewell, Diwali exhibition, various college fests. College also participates in various University levels competitions.
Fee Structure And Facilities
The fee structure largely depends upon the course taken. General courses which do not involve many complexities are less expensive. Courses that are new and require a lot of grooming and specialization are expensive. The even semesters are having more fees and the odd semester has a lesser fee. The fees are feasible mostly because students from all the castes are present. Even a low-class person can afford.
Fees and Financial Aid
Yes, the college offers merit to students as per their 12th percentage and University position attained the particular year.
Campus Life
It is a Women's college. There is the presence of various NSS and NCC camps. Students of various cultures and religions study under one roof. There is the presence of a discipline committee as well. Head girls and Presidents are also appointed. Bisexual females are also present. Married and unmarried females are also present.
Alumni/Alumna
All the senior students are well placed and in good colleges. They are even invited at various occasions as guests of honour and they are also awarded prestigious titles as per their contributions to the society. They also advice new methods and techniques to help improve the college.
Exam Structure
Exams are once per semester and are conducted according to discipline and a good schedule. Timings are usually divided into two slots: 9am-12am and 1am-4pm. Passing in exams is mandatory and students who skip exams are charged a fine. Students are also given prizes according to their performance during the exams.
Admission
I purchased the admission form and prospectus which costs around ?250. I filled in the details with the help of a college teacher on duty. And attached the required documents and attested them (10th pass certificate, 12th pass certificate, ID Proof, 3 passport size photographs ). I asked my parents to sign at the required places on the admission form. I bought a Refund form along with it which costs 1 rupee and is available from the bookstore in college. Then the head teacher signed the admission form after checking all necessary places are filled correctly. Afterwards I submitted the application form in the accounts office and then paid the required fee amount. I recieved a receipt in return which needs to kept safely. Afterwards I submitted the refund form along with a copy of the fee receipt and two passport size photographs in the library for College ID Card. I also wrote the phone number and address on the fee copy.
