Likes

The campus is very big and beautiful which is quite attention catching.
The Academic blocks and classrooms are nice and clean with ACs
These are so many events for character development and exposure to industry

Dislikes

The attendance criteria is 75 which is kind of unsatisfactory.
The security guards sometimes act as if it’s their own house and treat students wrongly

Course Curriculum Overview

The curriculum is based on the needs of the industry or corporate. Yearly meeting are held with industry CEOs to discuss the curriculum so that only needed subjects are taught. The mid semester exams are of 1hour and end semester exam is of 3 hour.

Class Size: 72Course Fees: INR 212000 per year

Fees and Financial Aid

The fee for this course is 106000 per semester which amounts to 212000 yearly. On top of that there is 2500 examination fee per semester. An amount of 2000 is charged as security amount during first semester.Except these charges there are no other fee or charges so far.

Campus Life

The campus is always engaged with activities all the time There are so many clubs The social life on campus is also fascinating and it is always fun with friends to roam around the campus. The campus is just so beautiful

Admission

There is no particular reason for choosing this college. I just wanted to study far from home atleast. The admission process of this college involves writing Chandigarh University entrance test (CUET) which also determines the scholarship

Faculty

As there as thousands of students in my course the students are divided in 2 blocks so im not every sure about the student to faculty ratio. Each section is given a mentor to communicate their problems to higher authorities. There are 2 mid semester exams of 20 marks and the end semester is of 60 marks. Apart from that internals for subjects is 40 marks and for hybrid subjects it is 70 marks The difficulty of exams is moderate and almost 80% students clear most of the exams including end sem

The curriculum changes as per the need of the industry norms so that student can attain knowledge about the basics as well as the niche technologies.This is the aspect to choose the course and the lab work and continuous competitions help us with the industry trends. The management could be improved. The frequency of exams help us learn well and difficulty is between easy to medium.

Chandigarh University: Is it worth the investment?

Placement Experience:

The student become eligible for campus placements from 5th semester. The companies visited per year are approximately 200. They claim 100% placements but in reality they divide students into placement and non- placement batches called tpp and ntpp. If you slip up even once, you will be debarred from the tpp group. The highest package is 53 LPA. The average package is 4.5 LPA. Companies like JP Morgan, TCS, Capgemini, PlaySimple, Cognizant, Nokia, Philips, Morgan Stanley, PWC, KPMG, EPAM, Watchguard, High radius, OYO, Coding Ninjas, Samsung, etc have already came. More companies are yet to come. Since the student intake is too much, placements are really hard to get since there is too much competition. In the end, people get hired in mass recruitment companies and get minimum pay of 3-4 lpa. My plans are apply for off-campus jobs and start working in corporate after the degree. If I don't get a job, I haven't decided what I will do next.

My college experience as a fresher

Placement Experience:

Placements are good but I am more looking towards offcampus placements. I will do internships from my second year and in first year I'll make the base. I contacted to some of the seniors they said doing hardwork will definitely lead to a good package.

Placement Experience:

After 4 semester students are eligible for sitting in placements. There are alot of company visiting and alot of them take 2-3 with really good package and some handful with good enough packages of nearly10 lpa and the highest package was i think of in last month was of around 60 lpa . My plans after getting a degree is too work my way through companies to a FAANG Companies

From the second year itself students are eligible for campus placements and the companies right now visited are more than 80 + like Amazon Google Microsoft etc the highest package right now in our college 2.5 crore right now as a fresher more than 80% are getting placements which I can I can see and many used to start they own startups and get success in their field as help you teachers them and give them opportunity to learn and do startups and my plan after getting a degree is if you get a placement and huge packages and get a experience from them and to start my own business

My imperfectly perfect College life reviewed for everyone who needs it

Placement Experience:

Though when I got admission in this college, I saw the placement rates were very nice, around 95%, but maybe it was our session's fault. I passed out in 2024, and in that particular year, the placements were not as expected and as seen in the previous batch, so that was something very much disappointing because I paid so much money on a degree, only everything was good about the college, but in the end, placement matters during my session. Usually, the companies that hired for example, 10 students only hired two students.

Chandigarh University: Is it worth the investment?

I didn't apply to any other college. I chose it because it was close to my home. The admission process to give CUCAT exam for which the fees is 1000 rupees. The passing marks are 40 out of 100.
