Life at BTU,Bikaner

I always know that B.Tech is a well reputed course and has a well defined aura over other courses . So thats why I chose this course . It has real life based practicality and it is not based on any type of ideology . A engineer always thoughts to improve the existing technologies by making wrong decisions again and again for a better future . I also chose this course to overule technical world and make a way to success . But now i think our couse curriculum needs some improvements or updations. It has become outdated as compared to other courses . The books are filled with old content and over the years the same content is delievered again and again . Students shoud be provided choices in the subjects so that they can get into the stream that seems interesting to them not burden. Subjects like business studies, economies . social study , marketing etc should be added . The difficulty of exams is not that much , enven a average student scores good marks easily but the main problem is papers are not taken on time . Sometimes we have to wait for months to get to know about exam dates.

Our college does not provide us any type of internship opportunities atleast not inside our college campus. We have to go to other colleges and companies by ourselves if we are seeking for internship . They just provide us the way to approach good companies and get a chance to grap that opportunity. I hope they initiate such programs on there own in future.

Placements are rare in this college(OnCampus) and totally depends on the luck. Generally ,after 7th semester students become eligible for campus placements . Companies like Hewlett-Packard(HP), Syntel, L&T, Cairn, saint-Goblain , Indian Army , Indian Air Force , Wonder Cement , TCS etc are some the companies that comes under the wishlist of the college. They pick student according to there need on an average yearly package of 4-5lac .Highest package that we heard of was a girl that got 25-30 lakhs. Percentage of students that got on campus placement is very low because college doesn't provide any opportunity .After getting the degree may be I opt for higher education like M.Tech or may be some government exam.

TFWS Admission: Under this scheme 5% of the total seats at an institution are reserved for economically weaker students that helps them to pursue higher education without paying tution fees. Students admitted under TFWS are not eligible for other scholarships. 2. The fees is increasing non- periodically over the years . Now, they have added Institution fees (3000/-) and Alumni Fees (1000/-). Also the tution fees has been increase by 1000/- rupees per year. 3. Fees for other courses : B.Tech {Lateral} : 78550/- (1st Year Fees) MBA : 1.28 Lakhs(Total Fees) M.Tech: 84550/- (1st Year Fees)

Overall experience of my campus life was good only . That is because what college has given me doesn't meet with my expectations . There are rare annual or techical fests , the reason is lack of participation or irresponsible faculties leadership .Library is filled with books that are outdated . We have requested college authority several times to update the books and condition of library but none of them listens to us.Some of the faculties are good with operating machines but others are just passing time at there homes or other buildings of college. Due to the pandemic ground is not maintained properlynad is totally covered with bushes . After cancelling the sports meet in 1st year we decided to clear the ground in which some faculty helped us. This was the last memorable week or activity we have participated in . There are social groups and clubs like sports club, music and danve club , photography club,programming club etc. that helps student to shoew there potential in other fiels also.

The best part of college life is hostel. It is the place where you make new bonds , memories and learns to tackle different kind of problems in life. So, there is seperate hostel for 1st year students which is just 100m from college . I stayed in hostel for 1 year and then shifted to personal room. So a single hostel room is shared with 2-3 occupants. The rooms have large space and ventilation .Each of us has a table and chair and a vast closet for putting clothes and accessories. Room has 2 fans , 2 tubelights and 3 switchboards . The hostel provide facility of mess that is compulsary where we get 3 meals of food in form of breakfast , lunch and dinner. Also at evening they also provide tea and biscuit. The registration is done in hostel deapartment that is in college campus only and then you can choose the room according to the need. The hostel fees is around 30000 per year that is quite affordable and mess fees is not included in it. The locality where I have living right now is good because they are generally students only .

I had applied for MBM,Jodhpur and RTU,Kota . The reasons are firstly they are more closer to my home town Jaipur , secondly they have better infrastructure, more educated faculty and MBM has its own mining site(I want to explore it). Also the environment of Kota and Jodhpur is more promising and satisfactory as compared to that of Bikaner. I did't got admission there because of my low reap rank or say JEE exam. Admission process is quite simple . I got admission through REAP(Rajasthan engineering Admission Process) which evaluates your JEE score(entrance exam for IITs , IIITs,NITs and GFTIs) and 12th score and gives a ranking .The eligibilty criteria for this course is passing class10+2. The college also provides direct admission on the basis of 12th score . During the admission process student must have to carry all the documents along with the passport size photograph . It is more convenient to bring a guardian or any member that is more comfortable for that process.

Faculty members are very well educated and most of them are experienced in their fields. They behave properply and tries to address each and every problem of a particular student . Most of them are softspoken and commumicates in english only . They have friendliness and students also enjoys their company a lot. The faculty to student ratio is quite good and every stream of subject has 2-3 available teachers. The faculty of Computer science and engineering are best because they are always available for you to solve your problems . The fact is all faculties are good enough but there should be improvement in mangerial economics and civil faculty. 4 years of B.tech course is divided into 8 semesters . Each semester has two mid terms of 10 marks each and a main paper of 70 marks. Level of paper is easy to moderate . And most of the students manages to clear them easily. Course curriculum is well designed, covering the topics that are most essential and needful for the student according to there field.

No , I havent face any type of GDs , Interview questions or written test before admission process.My admission process in direct on the basis on rank. They have just asked me about the reason of choosing this particular college and we had a discussion over the facilities they are providing us, the staff members and the future scope in this field.
