Likes

The thing i liked about the college was its vast campus which is a good thing for the students to explore and have fun with the friends you will make here
Also liked the overall online based data system that the university has maintained to make all the tasks like applying medical leave, raising concern, knowing your attendance and everything so easy for the students as well as teachers
The frequency of events happening here is very high which is good part as you will enjoy a lot of concerts and music festivals with your friends

Dislikes

Attendance policy is a bit strict as you will have to go through a rough process to get exemption for the low attendance and most probably will not be able to get your permission to give exam because of low attendace
Some times the security staff gets rude with you and very rigid about wearing ID card policy everyday and everywhere for the students
The document process after passing out like getting migration certificate, NOC etc is a bit hectic and tough for the students

Course Curriculum Overview

The curriculum was mostly theory and easy, the AIML part covered all the basics of machine learning and you would have to give time to study by yourself to gain correct knowledge of the subject for placements,rest part of CSE was just same as any other college with DSA at core all the coding langauages like C++,R,Python and JAVA were part of the course curriculum which were covered at the pace of 1 language per semester also the database systems were covered

Class Size: 65Course Fees: INR 200000 per year

Fees and Financial Aid

So the fees for engineering in BE CSE AIML was 95000/sem in 2020 which has been incresed to 132000/sem for the batch taking admission in 2024 and the fees of hostel has been incresed from 89000/yr to 120000/yr for a 5 seater hostel room. A lot of scholarship are available based of different criteria that goes up to 90% scholarship by CUET exam and you can also get scholarship upto 50% on basis of your 12th score

Campus Life

The clubs were all good like IEEE and CTSOC for techies and there were also encironment club , social clubs and further TBI- Technical Business Incubator which were always there to help you. You can assured that the social life at CU will always be happening and fun as the campus is large and student strength is so large that you can definitely find your people with whom you can enjoy your college life immensely

Admission

The admission process was very easy here , you get it based on either 12th marks or CUET enterance exam. I chose this college beacuse i wanted to takr admission near my hometown and wanted to study AIML which was only available at CU

Faculty

the faculty to student ratio is almost 1:50 and most of the faculties are good except a few you will meet who would be mean to you for know reason just to release their personal frustration but i guess all colleges have a few like the rest assured every faculty is good and proficient with what they do. The faculty who are also admisnistrative heads are always busy and you would have to mail queries to them instead of telling them in personal as it will get your problems solved quickly

The curriculum changes as per the need of the industry norms so that student can attain knowledge about the basics as well as the niche technologies.This is the aspect to choose the course and the lab work and continuous competitions help us with the industry trends. The management could be improved. The frequency of exams help us learn well and difficulty is between easy to medium.

Chandigarh University: Is it worth the investment?

Placement Experience:

The student become eligible for campus placements from 5th semester. The companies visited per year are approximately 200. They claim 100% placements but in reality they divide students into placement and non- placement batches called tpp and ntpp. If you slip up even once, you will be debarred from the tpp group. The highest package is 53 LPA. The average package is 4.5 LPA. Companies like JP Morgan, TCS, Capgemini, PlaySimple, Cognizant, Nokia, Philips, Morgan Stanley, PWC, KPMG, EPAM, Watchguard, High radius, OYO, Coding Ninjas, Samsung, etc have already came. More companies are yet to come. Since the student intake is too much, placements are really hard to get since there is too much competition. In the end, people get hired in mass recruitment companies and get minimum pay of 3-4 lpa. My plans are apply for off-campus jobs and start working in corporate after the degree. If I don't get a job, I haven't decided what I will do next.

Placement Experience:

Placements are good but I am more looking towards offcampus placements. I will do internships from my second year and in first year I'll make the base. I contacted to some of the seniors they said doing hardwork will definitely lead to a good package.

Placement Experience:

After 4 semester students are eligible for sitting in placements. There are alot of company visiting and alot of them take 2-3 with really good package and some handful with good enough packages of nearly10 lpa and the highest package was i think of in last month was of around 60 lpa . My plans after getting a degree is too work my way through companies to a FAANG Companies

Placement Experience:

From the second year itself students are eligible for campus placements and the companies right now visited are more than 80 + like Amazon Google Microsoft etc the highest package right now in our college 2.5 crore right now as a fresher more than 80% are getting placements which I can I can see and many used to start they own startups and get success in their field as help you teachers them and give them opportunity to learn and do startups and my plan after getting a degree is if you get a placement and huge packages and get a experience from them and to start my own business

My imperfectly perfect College life reviewed for everyone who needs it

Placement Experience:

Though when I got admission in this college, I saw the placement rates were very nice, around 95%, but maybe it was our session's fault. I passed out in 2024, and in that particular year, the placements were not as expected and as seen in the previous batch, so that was something very much disappointing because I paid so much money on a degree, only everything was good about the college, but in the end, placement matters during my session. Usually, the companies that hired for example, 10 students only hired two students.
