Course Curriculum Overview

2

The courses offered are fairly relevant with some latest courses like AI, ML, etc. But the curriculum will not prepare for you for the real world, because extensive coding skills are not taught. You are supposed to learn it on your own. Many classrooms are not equipped with projectors.

Internships Opportunities

3

Colleges offer some internship opportunities but they are difficult to get because a huge number of students fight for 10-15 openings. Companies Natwest, Western digital, Cummins, etc offer internships. Stipend for initial internships are pretty low about 15-25k.

Placement Experience

3

Students often start receiving company placement drives at the end 5th semester. Initially many companies offer internship opportunities and then change them into Pre Placement Offers after accessing your performance. Amazon, Barclays, BNY Mellon, Fidelity Investments, WESTERN DIGITAL, WellsFargo, Volvo, Visteon Corporation, etc. Highest package for our campus is 50LPA and average is around 3 LPA. About 80% Students get placed

Fees and Financial Aid

All fees (per year) here is mentioned for my current batch and the ECE Department, fees can be increased for upcoming batches: Basic Tuition Fees: 1,45,000 (SRMJEE) for management it maybe more. Book Fees: 15,000 Career Development: 25,000 Exam Fees: 2 x 3000 = 6000 Placement Training (6th Sem): 10,000 Lab Breakage(Compulsory): 200 For good ranks in SRMJEE exam scholarship is provided based on rank obtained, ranging from 10% to fully funded. If you maintain 90%+ attendance and 9+ CGPA you can also get scholarship.

Campus Life

2

There some technical events that often take place regularly like the project day. The library is poorly equipped with good books, most of the books are often too old to be relevant. It would be a shame to call this a library. There is little to no technology involved in classrooms, while most colleges encourage students to take notes from there tablets, here your are forced to take notes in a notebook which will be checked by the faculties, like this is a preschool. Only the classrooms in the main block have projectors installed and classrooms in other blocks do not have any projectors. There is no proper ground or courts for playing sports. Recently they built an indoor badminton and basketball court, but not all students can play there. There are various clubs run by students like Camogenics, Tech Vayuna, CodeKraft, etc..

Hostel Facilities

2

There is no website for booking of the hostel, but rather you have to come in person to book the hostel. The hostel in charge will try to scam you buy making you take the old unfurnished rooms with a common toilet. Floors 1,2,8,9 are old rooms with very old damaged iron beds without any proper furnishing they have common toiles with half of the toiles clogged. Floor 3-7 are very new and renovated, they have wooden cots and attached toilet which are cleaned daily. Rooms with common toilet and attached toilet all cost the same. While booking they say that all the rooms are same and try to scam. There various PG options available around the college. Food provided in the hostel is good and the Sunday biriyani is also very good. You primarily have South Indian menu but also have rotis.

Admission

First after writing SRMJEE, I applied to SRM Kattankulathur for Automobile Engineering and ECE, I got selected for both in the first round itself. Since the tuition fees was about 2,50,000, I did not go for it. I also wrote the entrance exam for Lovely Professional University for ECE l, I also got an confirmed admission with a scholarship. The tuition fees was 1,50,000. I also applied for ECE at SRM Ramapuram, the tuition fees was 1,50,000. But finally after a huge dilemma I went ahead and joined SRM Ramapuram. For SRM there is an entrance exam called SRMJEE, but its not compulsory.

Faculty

2

Most of the Faculties have no knowledge about their subjects, and often just read out from the PPTs. There are total 3 internal cycle tests and they are often fairly easy to attend. Most faculties give the questions beforehand. Some low brain faculties have their senseless rules forced upon students. Some of the faculties are really approachable and helpful.

Other Applied Colleges

Lovely Professional University - [LPU] | Bachelor of Technology [B.Tech] (Electronics & Communication Engineering)

Too far from home

SRM Institute of Science and Technology - [SRMIST] | Bachelor of Technology [B.Tech] (Electronics & Communication Engineering)

Too expensive.

Placement Experience:

Students can join job drives from the 7th term. Many firms visit the campus for jobs and offer roles in tech and other fields. The pay varies by firm and role. EEC has a good job rate and gives help for job prep. After my degree, I plan to work in the tech field and grow my skills.

Placement Experience:

Students are open to campus placements from 2nd year onwards. There are many companies who visit such as Delloite, Accenture, Cognizant, TCS, Amazon, NatWest, Nokia, etc. Highest package offered is 42 lpa and lowest is maybe 2-4lpa. Around 90% of students get placed here. My plans is to get a job through campus recruitment. Currently I got an internship through campus recruitment in Cognizant so the recruitment is quite nice here.

Placement Experience:

One thing I really need to appreciate at CIT is its placement training program. The placement team conducts regular sessions on 1. aptitude 2. coding 3. communication skills 4. group discussions and 5. interview preparation which helped me feel more confident during placements. The trainers were friendly and always encouraged us to improve our skills step by step. They provide continuous guidance and feedback throughout the training process. Mock interviews and one to one assessments helped me to understand my strength and weak areas and I work on improvements . These sessions not only improved my technical and communication skills but also boosted my confidence . The placement training team played an important role in preparing me for career opportunities and industry expectation

Placement Experience:

Chennai Institute of Technology is an instituition that truly prioritizes student career growth . The placement cell is exceptionallu well-organized ,consistently connecting students with reputed companies across various industries. What makes CIT stood out is the quality of its training staff. They focus heavily on communication , technical knowledge and competitive preparation ,align students with what top companies expect ,and contiuosly push us to improve and meet industry standards. Their structured training helped me to clearly identify my strengths and work on my weak areas, which made a huge difference during interviews and boosted my overall confidence. The department faculty are equally commnedable ,knowledgable ,approachable and genuinely invested in student career. Overall CIT is an excellent choice for anyone focused on building a strong and sucessful career
