Life at NRTI

Positive remark can be that this is first college in India and 3rd college all over the world offering dedicated course in transportation and logistics management and technology so the college management team brings best professor around globe to teach. Negative can be that since 2018-19 was the first year of the college, there are no assistant professor but college management tries it's best to use it's existing resources fully.

The course is inspired by Cornell University and hence makes it unique in India. The year will be having three trimester of 3 months each with quizzes in between trimester and trimester exams at the end of trimester and the duration for BSc/BBA will be of 3 years and a total of 9 trimester. The course will be totally unique unlike the traditional Indian education syllabus. The first year will be having foundational courses with courses of personal development and basic courses on transportation. There will be evaluation and grading based upon your presentation in the final exams while the basic course in transportation will be having written exam for grading purposes. The second will be having core subjects along with some multidisciplinary courses for credits. The third year will be having thesis and internship and placement will be done.

The college has opened in 2018 under the vision of PM Narendra Modi to change the existing transportation sector and the college comes under Indian Railways so the internship is one mandatory railway workshop and others are yet to be finalized. Regarding placements, the college aims to bring logistic companies and major transportation companies for placements. Also it's unclear wether Indian railways will be providing jobs to the passout but since it's the 3rd college all over the world dedicated to transportation sector, we have quite a large opportunities in logistics and modes of transportation.

The college celebrated all the cultural festivals like diwali night, lohri, Christmas Eve and has held intra college events for sports known as Recreation week and had organised friendly matches with probabtioner officers of National Academy of Indian Railways. Also students have attended cultural fest of colleges around Gujarat winning for college.

The fee structure is really feasible with fees less than INR 1.3 Lakhs per year including all the expenses of hostels, mess and academics. College also offers blind scholarship to students with low family income to facilitate their studies.

The students are given opportunity to apply individually to scholarship offfered by Indian Government. Also the college offers blind scholarship to students of low family income to facilitate their studies by waving off there college fees upto 100%.

The extra curricular activities are really good with events like guest lectures of renowned personal like metro man of India, Officers of Indian government, Professor of IITs, bycycle mayor of Vadodara and many more to promote all round development of students.the sports facilities are world class with swimming pool, dedicated indoor game rooms and playground for out door games.

The hostel facilities is best all over India. With hostel fees of just 13K per year, students are given well furnished rooms along with attached bathroom and A.C. and rooms for recreation and reading rooms. The fooding quality is also best since we share our mess with probabtioner officers of National Academy of Indian Railways.

Since the college started in 2018, we are the very first batch of 100 students from 20 states of India. So until now there are no senior students and alumni of the college. But in case one need help, they can always message one fo the students and they will be happy to help.

Since it's the first year of college, there are no permanent faculties present at the collegee. All the faculties are on contract basis and that's the very best thing about it. All the faculties are renowned faculties who have minimum 15 years of teaching experience in India and in foreign itself. Since the college is backed down by Indian Railways, so the college hires the best faculties present. Most of the faculties are permanent faculties at IIT Madras, NID Gandhinagar and some are ex faculties of University of Calgary, XLRI Jmashedpur. Other are visiting/guest faculties at IIM BANGALORE, TMTC Pune. These are the faculties for foundational course only. The faculties of core courses are yet to be announced.
