Course Curriculum Overview

3

I am a student in Information technology. I believe the course is a bit outdated as we are also taught a lot of electronics subjects as well. The labs included with this course are good and provide real practical knowledge and also prepares you for the industry. However, the course can be improved by including more practical subjects and removing some subjective ones. The timing of exams is very uncertain and hinders with your preparation. hence that can also be improved.

Internships Opportunities

3

Internship opportunities are limited in Bhopal but not scarce. I got a 10,000 per month internship at opensense labs. It was an on campus opportunity. Moreover, every year there is an on campus opportunity to intern at Appointy which offers a stipend of about rs.25,000 to 30,000.

Placement Experience

3

Placements are decent with an average package of 3.5 lpa and a median package of around 3 lpa. Some people do very well in off campus placements wherein they got a package of 54lpa in Google, 45lpa in Amazon etc. About 70% of the students get placed from the CS/IT branches and 50% students from the other core branches. Some of the companies that frequently visit the campus are TCS, Cognizant, Mckinley Rice, Opensense Labs, Appointy, Persistent Systems, etc. I plan to do an MBA after this degree. I get plenty of time to prepare for CAT as there is no 75% attendance criteria in 4th year.

Fees and Financial Aid

The annual fee for the college is 32000 rupees which is a very minimal fee. Moreover, reserved categories like obc, ews, st/st get a fee waiver and must pay only Rs.500 per year. they are also exempted from paying exam form fees or any other fee. No extra charges are levied on the fee and it is constant for the entire 4 year duration. There is another scholarship scheme called Medhavi wherein anyone with an annual income of less than 8 lakhs and a minimum aggregate of 65% in their 10th and 12th can avail of it. There are also some scholarships available for single girl child. All in all, studying here is very cheap and you can also get a good Return on Investment by getting placed in a decent company like TCS.

Campus Life

3

There is a sports fest organised every year called Mahasangram in April and a cultural fest called Shankhnaad in October. The cultural fests have stopped since last year because the club is not active anymore. The library is one of the best places in the college. Also it has a plethora of books to choose from ranging from management to technology. You can also borrow them for upto a semester that is 6 months. Classrooms have a black board and do not have a smart board. The labs have latest HP core i7 computers. There are a lot of college clubs like E-cell, GDSC, Asper etc whicb you can participate in.

Hostel Facilities

3

hostel rooms have an occupancy of 2 people. They charge 6000 Rs per year for a room and rs.2000 each month as mess fee. The food here is decent and you can also opt for tiffin centre food. Registration for hostel can be done from campus only.

Admission

I have taken admission in this college because it is the state technological university of madhya pradesh. It is a reputed govt college and the fee here is also very affordable. All the other colleges I had applied to like VIT, LNCT, SRM charged enormous fee and did not have very good placements. That is why I did not choose them. Admission is done through JEE mains and a minimum of 88 percentile is required to secure a seat in the top branches like CSE and IT. For this college, you have to apply through the MP DTE counselling which has 3 rounds.

Faculty

3

The faculty to student is 1 faculty for every 40 students. Professors are highly qualified and eager to help students especially in research related work. They give good guidance and are lenient in attendance criteria. Some of the best faculties include Shifa Manihar, Asmita Moghe, Ratish Agrawal. They are always eager to help and assist. Exams here are not very tough and can be easily cracked by practicing previous year questions. the course curriculum is up to date.

Other Applied Colleges

SRM Institute of Science and Technology - [SRMIST] | Bachelor of Technology [B.Tech] (Computer Science and Engineering)

The fee was very high and the placements were not that great.

Placement Experience:

Students become eligible for campus placements from the 6th semester onwards. Companies visiting campus are mostly mass recruiters along with a few product-based and mid-level companies. Most students receive an average package of approximately 5-6 LPA, while higher packages are offered to only a few top performers. Few seniors, whom I know got packages of 8.5 LPA, 12 LPA, and 19 LPA also, so basically higher packages are also offered but their competition is high and only some of them can make it up to that. A good percentage of eligible students receive the placement offers, mainlt in IT and service-based roles, but competition remains there, so one needs to have serious preparation on his or her own. Arond 60%+ students got placed every year from on-campuses placements. The placement cell provides training sessions and interview sessions from the third year onwards. Overall, placements can be considered decent compared to other private colleges in the region. Basically, after completing my graduation, I plan to pursue good placement otherwise prepare further for civil services after understanding career growth, however, this is not my final decision but could make a final one before the completion of course.

Course Curriculum Overview:

The manit curriculum for mechanical is quite strong in basics and was a major reason i chose this course .It covers core maths ,mechanics ,physics ,electrical and wrskhopa ,which helps for higher studies and exams .Exams are frequent with midsems ,quizzes and endsems;sometimes the schedule feels packed, but it keeps us regular with the syllabus.Difficulty is moderate if you attend classes and practice .Still , some subjects feel outdated and there should be more software , projects and insustry oriented content.

Placement record is decent, campus drives happens regularly. If no campus placement is offered then it's obvious one has to struggle a bit more to get a decent job but I beleive the college makes the students capable enough to crack the campus placement if a person really is capable then their is no lack of resources from the college. Even if there is no in campus placement I think everyone has a plan B.
