What Students Say

Likes

Maximum outsiders are a part of this university and for them beautiful hostels are built and for each hostel there are 2 mess too.
The university is quite powerful as many influencial people of the country have come here during seminars.
Placements are just too good as a lot of company has drawn their inclination towards our university off late.

Dislikes

The location as it is almost 30 kms from main city and therefore difficult to find transportation.

Course Curriculum Overview

Our curriculum has a lot of international influence as we do learn the programming and skills as good as the ones required in tech giants like NVIDIA and others. A lot of foreign tie-ups have made it clear that we stay updated with our curriculum and are also taken for industrial visits to countries like South Korea and Germany.

Class Size: 75Course Fees: INR 212000 per year

Placement Experience

TCS, Google, Amazon and various other top companies are here during the placement sessions. CSE has over 300 students and still over 200 are placed means the placement percentage is quite good. Average placements lastvyear recorded were in the range of 10lakhs annual package.

Fees and Financial Aid

Fees is 2 lakhs and 12 thousand for a year but during my first year i paid just 150k as those who scored above 90% or more got a 30% scholarship. So yes reservation based scholarships are here with SC/ST students benefitting almost 30% off in the university actual fees.

Campus Life

Tech Invent is annual tech fest and CU Fest is annual cultural fest of the university. Well, besides that too Diwali Extravaganza, Garba nights and almost every single festival is celebrated at the campus. There's an entire sports complex in the university and coaches of all sports are also available.

Admission

CUCET is the entrance exam of the university and if you do well in that, it doesn't just guarantee you admission but scholarships too. JEE scores are also accepted and students below 20k ranks are given scholarship too. Admssions here are very smooth in any case if you choose online or offline. Counsellors of top quality have been hired to guide you until the final process.

Faculty

Faculties are all doctorates and mind boggling as their support is crucial and they are indeed quite supportive. Not just support but their guidance tkk has been immense and they are the reason why students of CU has done well at top forums of the colleges.

The curriculum changes as per the need of the industry norms so that student can attain knowledge about the basics as well as the niche technologies.This is the aspect to choose the course and the lab work and continuous competitions help us with the industry trends. Chandigarh University: Is it worth the investment?

Placement Experience:

The student become eligible for campus placements from 5th semester. The companies visited per year are approximately 200. They claim 100% placements but in reality they divide students into placement and non- placement batches called tpp and ntpp. If you slip up even once, you will be debarred from the tpp group. The highest package is 53 LPA. The average package is 4.5 LPA. Companies like JP Morgan, TCS, Capgemini, PlaySimple, Cognizant, Nokia, Philips, Morgan Stanley, PWC, KPMG, EPAM, Watchguard, High radius, OYO, Coding Ninjas, Samsung, etc have already came. More companies are yet to come. Since the student intake is too much, placements are really hard to get since there is too much competition. In the end, people get hired in mass recruitment companies and get minimum pay of 3-4 lpa. My plans are apply for off-campus jobs and start working in corporate after the degree. If I don't get a job, I haven't decided what I will do next.

Placements are good but I am more looking towards offcampus placements. I will do internships from my second year and in first year I'll make the base. I contacted to some of the seniors they said doing hardwork will definitely lead to a good package.

My imperfectly perfect College life reviewed for everyone who needs it

Placement Experience:

Though when I got admission in this college, I saw the placement rates were very nice, around 95%, but maybe it was our session's fault. I passed out in 2024, and in that particular year, the placements were not as expected and as seen in the previous batch, so that was something very much disappointing because I paid so much money on a degree, only everything was good about the college, but in the end, placement matters during my session. Usually, the companies that hired for example, 10 students only hired two students.
