Course Curriculum Overview

3

Relatively they provide enough practical knowledge but you get the insights of the Industry during your industrial exposure training itself. A little too much of journal work too. Students don't usually maintain a notes for various subjects or departments .

Internships Opportunities

3

The internship is done during the second year , you have a choice to do your internship in any 4,5 star property in almost any city. People usually prefer Chennai or Bangalore . I did my internship in jw marriot, Bengaluru for 4 months .

Placement Experience

4

Talking about placement,we get some good Indian and international companies such as Hilton, ITC, Leela, oberois and many more. There are various cruise companies also coming for campus. There are various rounds conducted based on the company you are dealing with.

Fees and Financial Aid

so on the first year the fee is usually charged more than the upcoming academic years. The fee for the first year may go up to 1.4L. Then on the upcoming 2nd and 3rd year it can go up to an average of 1.2-1.3 lakhs.

Campus Life

3

Some of the major fests that happen in ihm Chennai are onam, food fest, Pongal, etc. The celebrations are actually very nice compared to other aspects of the college. The campus life can be described just ok. Ihm Chennai is a very old establisment and considering that the infrastructure of the college can be said decent. You have enough sport activities for foodball , vollyball, basketball but the area for all such activities are a little restricted. There is a common library within the college where you can access few books but people usually go there for the A/c. There are student clubs and other major activities mainly culinary based and it will be useful if you are enthusiastic regarding food production and more .

Hostel Facilities

3

The college hostel for boys has 2 divisions, mainly the new boys hostel and the old boys hostel. The new boys hostel is mainly alloted for the first years and seniors stay in the old boys. The bathroom facilities in the old boys are bad and is worse than the new boys. But once you live there for sometime you get used to it. There are pgs and rented stays outside the college which is better and also located close by.

Admission

It starts with clearing nchmct and then you enter the counciling rounds where the allotment of college as per your rank is made . At the time ihm Chennai has a good rank and i decided to join it. It was relatively closer to my hometown compared to other colleges.

Faculty

3

Talking about the college faculty, i have a neutral opinion regarding them. Its usually upto you or how you behave in the college and this applies to your activeness when it comes to submission. If you are regular to class and are able to submit things on time I don't think you will be facing any much issues. There are faculties who can be annoying too but you just have to deal with it.

Remarks:

The college is too small . The committee's should try to build a big and spacious campus for the students .Rest everything is good . As it is one of the best college in India. According to me it should provide free afternoon meal to all the students in a day as the students spend a lot by having food outside and wasting the money.
