Remarks

If one wants to be a teacher or any other proffession this college is a dream place for him/her but if one wants to go for research I will not advice him/ her to join here. It's a college which gives the society a citizen having dynamic personality. A big thumbs up to my college. Yeah there are few lacuna but slowly things are changing & the average rate of change is faster than any other college in the country..

Course Curriculum Overview

4

The course curriculum is so beautifully structurised that after completion of 4years it gives society a well trained teacher for class 6-8. It includes Internships, Multicultural programmes under which a student has to visit various schools to gain experience of school teaching. Before this there is microteaching in the college itself where the teacher trainees are being trained by the best faculties of the institute. Coming to exam structure 4years are divided into 8semesters, each semester have 2internal tests of 15marks each & one semester ending exam of 60marks along with practical exams of 25marks. Out of the 2two internals the avg score is considered while preparing the final result. The syllabus of B.Sc & B.Ed are so well designed or rather I will say bifurcated into 8semsters that a student will never feel pressurized. As it is a college of NCERT hence all the govt schemes get directly implemented in this college first and all the theories of educational psychology which seems impossible in real life while teaching in classroom is practically used in this institute & a teacher trainee is trained to use the same in future classes.

Placement Experience

4

The placement & job opportunities are just awesome in this College. Top Pvt schools of the country come here to take quality teachers with a handsome amount of 25k-30k which is further negotiable. Some of my friends are working in SAI international school one of the top school in India with 32k-33k p.m. Yes their is internship but it is not paid as the main motive behind the internship is to train the teacher trainees rather than paying them. But yeah from the upcoming session it may be a paid one as the internship is extended for 5-6months where as in my time it was hardly 2months, and the director of NCERT is in continuous touch with director of NVS for making this internship paid one.

College Events

5

A lot of events are celebrated every year like Orientation programme, All the national festivals, Ganesh & Saraswati pujas, annual sports meet, cultural fest, science day, Inter RIE sports meet, Annual Day, Hostel Nights, Educational tours, literary fests many others not coming to mind.

Fee Structure And Facilities

Very much feasible, the fee structure of all the 4years is similar to the fees structure of 2semesters of B.Tech students. Also there is scholarships for some students who are economically weak or students who are exceptional in studies. The college fees will be around 40k in 4years & hostel fees is 2100/- per month or 70/- per day which is very much feasible.

Fees and Financial Aid

Yes the college gives monthly scholarship to students who are excellent in academics as well as to SC/STs students. Also free ship of fixed amount to some students per semester. Students are in continuous touch with the college authority regarding hike in the scholarships.

Campus Life

3.5

Labs are not as good as NITs or IITs but they are better than state governed colleges, atleast a student will never feel sad while working in the labs, most of the apparatus are available in the labs. Sports facility is quite good cricket, volleyball, basketball, khokho, tennis, table tennis, badminton courts are there, along with complete exposure for external tournaments.

Hostel Facilities

4.5

Yes as I have mentioned earlier mess charge for per day fee is 70/- monthly it is 2100/- establishment fees is 3000/- per semester. So on an average 15-16k per semester. The mess is a student controlled mess where the rules & food along with its quality is being decided by the students. So overall hostel facility is good.

Alumni/Alumna

The Alumni is the best part of this college, the seniors are always helpful while being in the college & also after passing out from the college. Want to state that alumni consists of seniors working as Research fellows, serving in KVS, NVS, Other schools, some at RBI & SBI, and many reputed position holders in the society their guidance is very much helpful.

Admission

By appearing in the CEE-2014( Common Entrance Examination) and getting one of the top rank holders in the state of Odisha. Then shortlisted for admission in this premier institute. As the name suggests it's Regional Institute hence it's a college for Eastern zone, similarly there are 4other RIEs in other zones respectively. In RIE Bbsr there are 50 seats for B.Sc.B.Ed PCM stream same for CBZ & Arts stream. After the entrance exam the top rank holders of the eastern states are shortlisted for admission, the number of seats allocated for a particular state is fixed which is given in the website or which can be checked while applying for the upcoming CEE2019.

Faculty

4.5

As it is a teacher training institute hence the faculties of B.ed programme or those dealing with the education syllabus are best in the country. Not only their depth in knowledge but their content delivering is awesome. Coming to B.Sc faculties there is shortage of permanent faculty in this stream and teaching methodology is outdated. If someone bis interested in research work he/she shouldn't join this college as the scope for research work is Zero. But if someone wants to serve the society by being a teacher then this is the best institute in India for you. Sometimes we used to call this IIT for Teachers.
