Likes
- The campus is neatly maintained. Cleanliness is a must in the college. Infrastructure is well taken care of. Students socialize really well and organize events with unity.
- Twachers are well-acclaimed and possess ample amount of knowledge. They are super friendly to be honest.
- Not just academically, but the college offers all-round development for the students. A lot of facilities are there if the student is interested.
Dislikes
- Teachers can be a little ignorant while teacher-student interaction. Students themselves sometimes get a little sketchy with their behavior.
- Politics is dominant in the college. Protests and quarrels disturb peace inside the college.
- Outside people enter casually into the campus and misbehave with students.
Course Curriculum Overview
The course is really impressive in terms of preparing us for further entrances. The syllabus is well-structured in that case. Improvements can still be done by modifying the course according to the changes in the pattern of UGC NET.
Fees and Financial Aid
At the time of admission, the college took from us a fee of 1518 rupees. There are no extra charges as such, however students pay collectively at the time of functions. There's no such scholarship that was offered to us during graduation and nor was there any financial aid from the department.
Campus Life
Ravenshaw celebrates a lot of functions every year including annual functions, Indian festivals and regional joys. The exact month of celebration is not rigid, whenever convenient, Ravenshaw organizes them. Library is really full of knowledge with tons of books from different genre. Sport events are almost constant throughout the year and many students achieve success. Clubs although are there, still not significant enough.
Admission
I first got into SCS (A) college, Puri. I changed from there to Ravenshaw University only for sport facility. There are loads of opportunities in Ravenshaw if you are a sportsman. Admission in Ravenshaw in based on your 12th percentage. The cutt-off varies for caste categories though.
Faculty
I really loved Chandan sir for his friendly nature. Knowledge based, I have a lot of respect for Urmishree madam and RKN sir. There were no such teacher whom I can say that I hated. Two semesters are there in a year and two mid-semesters too. Exam questions are easy but the marking in my department was quite strict. Course curriculum for sure is relevant and helpful for competitive exams.
