Course Curriculum Overview

3.5

The business management aspect is very good in terms of relevance we get to know about a lot of real-time business examples and get to study them with our teachers and also learn the case studies and all the pros and cons in them which gives us a very clear understanding of the subject. We also got to know a lot about digital marketing which is very much required nowadays and also got to have a practical application of digital marketing by making our website and publishing it on the Google Network and also making a lot of social media profiles and optimising them according to the business and managing them also. Exams happen every four weeks, MST exams are quite easy but the final exam is quite difficult in terms of checking and also the question paper.

Placement Experience

2.5

Students become eligible for campus placements after the 5th semester.

  • As of now no companies have visited enough but three students of her batch have been placed for 3.75 lpa in an HR position role in a company.
  • Chandigarh University claims to have more than 90% of placements but I dont think that metric is true whether or less companies coming from batch loads in business administrations in Chandigarh University.

Fees and Financial Aid

The per semester fee structure I paid is 65000/-, 130000/- yearly. 2500/- examination fees are compulsory every semester and we have to pay the fees. B.Com is 122000/- yearly with 2500/- per semester compulsory examination fees.

The scholarship is on two basis:

  • 10th and 12th percentage merit basis
  • CUCET exam scores based it range from 100%, 50%, 20% then 10% according to the scores the scholarship exam happens in two phases where the percentages are higher in the first phase and lower in the second phase if you get admission a little later. To maintain the scholarship student needs to have a 7.5 CGPA or higher in every semester with no detained subjects (more the 75% attendance in every subject) and no backlogs.

Campus Life

4

There are a lot of festivals that are held at Chandigarh University

  • There is a fest now and then the most recent one is Tashan Nights which happens every semester.
  • The fresher Party goes on for three days wherein many celebrities and singers come for the concert and in the morning there are stalls put up by students and competitions held modelling sinking dancing etc.
  • There are a lot of sports in extracurricular activities on the town campus and a lot of good scholarships are also given to students who get a reward or medal from the universities.
  • There are a lot of clubs in Chandigarh University students can take part in.
  • The libraries are very beautifully constructed and students can enjoy spending their time there and studying.

Hostel Facilities

3.5

There are two seater or three seater rooms in hostels but I got the two seater room.

  • The interior of the room is ok.
  • The meals are provided three times a day and they are quite good in the beginning but they get progressively worse as we go to complete our year I got food poisoning twice in a year from the hostel food.
  • The hostel is not worth it for the money that they ask for which is 1,00,000.
  • After the first year, I took a NOC from my hostel and bought a rented flat with my friends in the nearby society there are a lot of societies where students can get flats for pgs they are near Chandigarh University approximately a 21-minute drive from the flat to the university.

Admission

I applied to MIT Pune and UPS Dehradun, and I got accepted to both of them but the course I wanted to study at Chandigarh University. I did not get any rejections from any colleges I applied to.

  • The main process at Chandigarh University was quite simple I had to fill in the form and then I got a call from the university to apply for the CUC exam where I got a good score
  • I got a 20% scholarship because I was quite late in getting admitted.

The main reason I applied to Chandigarh University OR I got into it was that it took late admission because I was very late in my admissions only Chandigarh University was the university that was taking admissions at that time. 60% is the eligibility criteria.

Faculty

4

Faculties are nice and approachable. Some are a little strict but otherwise most of them are very approachable and kind to students. They provide regular notes to students and regular PPTs to study give out important questions for every exam and guide students at every step. The faculty member I liked was Miss Heena Nazir she is very kind towards all the students she provides every little knowledge that she has of the subject she taught us digital marketing. She also helps us with real-world knowledge because she has corporate experience of 12 in year digital marketing field. There are three exams in total in every semester, 2 are msts and one is the final end-semester exam. The two msts contain 25% weightage each whereas 50% weightage is for the final semester and the rest of that is for the co-curricular and the courses we did and the assignment marks or the viva.

Other Applied Colleges

UPES, School of Design Studies - [SoDS] | Bachelor of Design [B.Des] (Interior & Retail Space Design)

Got to know the design course here was unnecessarily expensive and not good placements in comparison to it.

MIT World Peace University - [MIT-WPU] | Bachelor of Business Administration [BBA] (Digital Marketing)

The campus placements here are good. Many of my batchmates have been placed. Students become eligible for placements after second year. Many companies have visited here and offered job roles in different fields like sales, operation, lead generation etc. Packages offered ranges from 10lpa to 4 lpa. And the average package is 5 lpa. There is an option if you dont want to chose placement services. Mostly students who have opted for placements services have been placed and the rest will also be placed soon. My plan is to pursue MBA after the completion of my degree.
