Honest Review By IITM Student

Course curriculum is good. It has all aspects respective to our department. The real world applications are well included in our curriculum courses. I think it is perfect that there is no room for any improvements. The duration of semester is 4 months. Sometimes it feels rushed but it is good to over quickly.

My friend got internship in Amazon with stipend of 1,10,000 per month and another guy got in Bank of New York with stipend of 75,000 per month. They both are Software Developers. One guy got internship in American company with stipend of about 6 lacs per whole duration. His profile is also Software Developer.

After completing 6th semester, students are eligible to participate in placements. Big companies like MAANG, Goldman Sachs, Samsung, Morgan Stanley, Quant etc visit our campus every year. The number of offers would be less than 10. The highest package got for Civil Engineering student is 84Lpa and his profile is SDE, and average is 8Lpa. 40-60% placed every year. I am planning to pursue my career in civil Engineering by joining in MTech.

The fee payment is divided into 2 semesters, each semester fee is 11350. This fee falls under tution fees and it was not increased in last few years and I think it will not increase in further years also. The tution fee concession for SC students of amount which was written above. The other category students have max tution fee of 1,08,000. Scholarships are available in my college. Like all NSP portal applied schemes are eligible for students in my college.

The overall campus life experience is top notch. The annual fest is SAARANG, it is one of the biggest fest in India. It is about 5 days where various celebrities comes to perform, circus, exhibitions will also happen. Technical fest Shaastra also has many good things like VR Games, Food etc. Every student has access to books and journals available in library. There is 24hr wifi in classroom and those are air conditioned. Many sports events happens monthly encouraging new players. Civil Engineering Association(CEA) is student run organization which provides civil students a better college experience and gives outer college students a professional experience.

A single room with cupboard, table, ceiling fan, chair are provided with 3 sockets in room. Wifi port is also provided for every room for 24 hr wifi. The meel quality is very low that cannot eat more than 1 month but have to eat 4 years. The menu is good, the quantity is also good but the food doesn't taste any better. Every month a mail is circulated to change the mess hall to experience various menu like South and North Menu.

I have chosen this college because it is NIRF 1st rank from recent years. It has many social clubs, forest area, animal interactions etc. And this college is one of the top 3 prestigious colleges of India. When compared to other colleges the staff in this college is much better, it also has good average placement package, big campus, good lab equipment, and mainly freedom to pursue our interests. Bonus questions I have applied for VIT, SRM, Andhra University. As I said above this college has every good reason to be choosen over other colleges. No I didnt got any rejections. I had waited till I got into this college. If I didn't make into this then I should had opted in one of applied colleges and they would not reject me for admission. Entrance exam conducted all over India. JEE Advanced rank is only accepted by IITs. To write JEE Advanced you have to qualify JEE Mains which will be conducted 2 times a year. The eligibility to write these exams are 12th class qualification.

The faculty here are very intelligent and friendly. They are strict about attendance and discipline. Some professors will be chill but they would do correction of exam papers roughly so you never miss their classes again. The exam pattern varies from course to course. But mainly it consists of 2 quizzes(20%+20%) and 1 end sem (60%). The faculty to student ratio in your department is almost upto 1:6. Many students will not be allowed to exam due to low attendance(min 75%), they have to repeat the course. And those who have not prepared they would fail in easy subjects too.
