Likes
- The coding culture here is excellent and to add on this there are clubs like Fractal for CP and Robotics for development also various sessions are frequently conducted by GDSC
- The faculties here are quite experienced and they put there 100%.
- The infrastructure is decent I will say not too good not too bad
Dislikes
- There is strict 75% attendance criteria in some core branches
- The labs are not that good here. Some of the systems does not work or have outdated softwares.
- There is strict restriction on the in time (8 pm) of hostel in first year
Course Curriculum Overview
The curriculum in the CS branch is quite relevant as per the real world demand but I think they can include some of the skill development program. I am in the 3rd year of my college and we have subjects like ML, Data Analysis, Design and Analysis of Algorithms, and Compiler Design which are very interesting subjects and are in demand currently.
Internships Opportunities
This year many good companies have visited the campus for the internship like Google, De Shaw they visited for the SWE and SDE intern roles. Google has also selected 2 students offering them 1.2 lakhs/ month as stipend.
Placement Experience
The campus placement is good for the top 3-4 branches I would say. Cause either the students of core branches are not allowed by some companies or they can't apply due to CGPA criteria sometimes. For the CS branches the average placement is around 7-8Lpa and nearly 100% students of CS branch gets placed
Fees and Financial Aid
The annual institute fee is around 85000 for all categories and for branches like CSE AI and CSE SF it is 15000 more as they are self finance branches. It includes all kind of fees except for the hostel and mess fee. College doesn't provide any kind of scholarship, one can apply for the UP State government scholarship and for other state students they can apply for central scholarship.
Campus Life
This college has very different culture of having departmental fests so you will experience a lot of fests of each department. And there is a college fest as well called as ENCORE which There are lots of clubs like Josh for dramatic, Insaniax for dance, Mirage for photography, Fractal for CP, Robotics for Development, GDSC, Excelsior for literature lovers, E-cell, Whiteboard. These all clubs are lead by students.
Hostel Facilities
For the first and second year you will get a three seater room and from 3rd year onwards you will get single room but that too depends on cgpa some 3rd year students also get 3 seater room. The meal quality depends on the hostels like for 1 st year It is decent but for second year it is bad and from third year onwards it depends on your cgpa. The more you got the cgpa the better the meal quality will be. The hostel are affordable as the annual fee is 14500 and 40000 for the mess annually.
Admission
I didn't applied for any other colleges as I know that I will get this college according to last year cutoff. The institute takes admission through UPTU counselling based on your JEE Mains rank if you got around 50000 rank then you can easily get CSE in this college.
Faculty
The faculties are approachable and they try to help you out. There will be total 3 exams 2 of them will be class tests of 20 marks each and one will be the end sem of 70 marks. Some faculty takes avg of CTs and some can take the best of two. After that 10 number will be given by faculty on assignments and attendance. So for a subject the maximum marks is 100. Nearly all students of CS branches clears the exam but there are some percentage of students in core branches who got back in some subjects.
