Remarks

The positive thing is the college has good academics but there is no placement cell. This is a very big problem in today's competitive world and the student's union is attached to a political party so sometimes problems appear in the college

Course Curriculum Overview

5

The students who want to do law can enroll in the BALLB program instead of doing the only LLB. As a law student, you have to know most of the laws so in these 5 years you will get to know about various laws. Every semester there is 3 law papers and 2 BA papers. For honours, you have 2 extra law papers that come after the sixth semester. Every year 2 semester exams are conducted where each subject has 80 marks. 20 marks are given on the basis of college internals. So in total, there are 10 semesters.

Placement Experience

0.5

The only bad thing about this college is they don't have a placement cell nor they do provide internships. The students have to find one on their own. But our alumni is very good so if someone is in touch with any alumni then he can surely get a job or an internship but there is no placement cell

College Events

3.5

There are various events which are celebrated in our college. Almost all the religious and national events are celebrated like Saraswati puja, ID, Independence day, republic day, Vivekananda Jayanti, etc. Festivals of every religion are given equal importance.

Fee Structure And Facilities

Fees are quite reasonable. Every year we just need to pay 5000. So that makes only 45000 for 5 years. As it is a government college, it also gives concessions and scholarships to the students who are not financially sound.

Fees and Financial Aid

As it's a government college scholarship is provided to students who are not financially sound. An income statement is taken from such students before giving the scholarship. Also, a railway concession is given to students who are not well off and who come in local trains to the college.

Campus Life

2.5

We have one library which is very good. As it's a very old college, one can find books which you can't find anywhere in the world. College also has a Moot Court and a common room where some gym equipments are there and one carrom board and one table tennis board is there. The college has a book store which has all the books which are required for the curriculum

Alumni/Alumna

The seniors are very helpful. They guide us about studies and also about internships. As there is a student's union which is mostly controlled by seniors, they also try to maintain a peaceful environment. There is no alumni network but a lot of judges and great lawyers have passed out from our college. So maybe because of the name of the college one can get a chance to work with them

Faculty

4.5

The faculty is very good. They are very informative and faculty are usually present so you can't expect free periods. They are well equipped with all the current changes in the legal system. There are some permanent professors along with visiting professors from different colleges.

Placements are given. But not what students dreamed of. Everyone gets opportunity to sit on interview and get placed. To perform good in interview our university has included boot camps in our routine which helps in improving our interview skills. Students in their last year get offers for jobs from university but students are not getting job offers as they excepted.

Course Curriculum Overview:

I have chosen B.A.LLB(Hons.) because I want to have knowledge of law because laws form the basis of society. Moreover, I had an Arts Background therefore, it was a good combination for me to explore and go according to my desired path of career. The count of faculty members of IILS is an approximation of 20-30 teachers and the students each semester is near about 70-100. The teachers are truly well versed in their respective subjects and they're immensely knowledgeable and friendly, they try hard to make us understand in the easiest manner. But the only problem is that the faculties are not permanent, it keeps on changing. The term examinations were always on time except for the lockdown time but this was also managed smoothly within time. In order to know the difficulties I would share a fact and i.e., when I took admission in my Institute there was a total number of 140 students in my semester but no sooner than the first exam held half of them failed and now we're 70 of us.
