What Students Say?
Likes
- There were 3 blocks so it was easy to differentiate between different faculty members and their respective faculties.
- The admission team were pretty cooperative.
Dislikes
- The crowd is really intense here so that sucks.
- The university does not provide the stuff required for different sports. for example they don't give u any racquet if u want to play badminton.
Course Curriculum Overview
I'd probably give it a 6/10. Because my SCOD teacher just reads out his ppt, although we can actually relate the syllabus to the one that we learnt in 12th grade. They donot "prepare" us, they just teach us the topic and thats i guess. They don't expand the area of thoughts in each topic thus making it quite wavering for us to decide how this or that stuff actually works.
Placement Experience
The placements that I thought were for an average of 3-4 LPA but what i got to know after coming here is that 95% of the people do not get placed because the companies dont actually come here much more often. Maintaining a 9.0 CGPA and having a minimum attendance of 75% probably seems to be the eligibility. Companies like Flipkart, amazon and google etc visit. (I'm not sure as I heard that this was just for the name game purposes) The highest package was 1.5 Cr I plan to probably to master's in computer science and engineering.
Loan/ Scholarship Provisions
Year wise fees for Btech in computer science and engineering is 1.54 Lakhs +15k exam fee thus adding to approximately 1.7 lakhs. 100% tuition fee waiver as scholarship given to those who scored 1st position in all central and state boards. 25% tuition fee waiver as scholarship given to those who secured 95% or above in class 12th. The fees remain same for everyone irrespective of category. All the dependants of Recipients of Gallantry awards - 30% aid in tuition fee All the dependants of serving personnel etc - 20% aid.
Campus Life
There are plenty of festivals that happen every month or so. Im a fresher so i donot have much clues about them. The library seems to be pretty compact and there are variety of books there. Although there are two AC's in every classroom but they barely work Extracurricular activities like badminton, futsal, cricket etc happens occasionally. There are plenty of clubs you can join
Admission
I applied to Galgotias College of engineering and Technology and i did get selected for the merit- based selection process but I was late by 2 days as the registration form got closed. You need to have above 60% in PCM to get admission to BTECH courses. The university accepts JEE and CUET examinations.
Faculty
here's a mid term exam and a final semester exam. The students that fail to clear the exams differ according to the subjects. Some seem to be easy and hence the exam seems unchallenging while others are pretty tough.
Other Applied Colleges
Galgotias College of Engineering and Technology - [GCET] | Bachelor of Technology [B.Tech] (Computer Science and Engineering)
I did opt for it, but they did not admit me coz i was late for admission by 2 days. Apparently the registration form was already closed.
