Course Curriculum Overview

3.5

As I wanted to upsc exam and I have taken admission in Fergusson college that's why I decided to do mathematics as well as my score during first and second year was very good that's why I thought I will survive during last year as well and one of the reason was phatangare sir ,he used to tought us calculus so thats why my intrest increased to go for mathematics. Contemporary relevance to day to day life is less I guess because this is pure mathematics course ,u need to further study for contemporary relevance ,there is no need to improve curriculum but the teaching techniques should.as soon as 2 months got over exams started one after another that too very hectic to manage like sometimes while week is busy.

Internships Opportunities

4.5

There is career facilitation centre is there in Fergusson college, and there is on job training in 3rd or 4th semester of masters students. Internships types includes working with government or private organisations, higher education institutions, university

Placement Experience

3.5

From last second and last semester placements get started for bachelors and post graduation Students but mostly and we can say almost masters students only got placed yet because I have never seen anybody from bachelors to got placed . companies like TCS,Tech Mahindra, Infosys,Capgemini, Accenture, blue pineapple visits our college, Companies like, josh , Accenture, Capgemini and Infosys offers 15 lakhs of average package. Around 80-85 percent students get placement (master's because students of bachelor's are mostly prepare for masters entrance and all that's why they usually do not sit for placements) My plan after bachelor is to prepare for masters. As the

Fees and Financial Aid

I had opt for Bsc mathematics course in Fergusson college pune in 2020 which is 3 year course .I tool admission in general category, yearly fees I had paid is 8-9 thousand approximately. including exam fees there was not extra fees we had to pay though, fees for other categories was less than general like for OBC it was almost same or bit less and for sc,st,nt it was around 4-5 thousand, there was a scholarships as well like gokhale scholarship, inspire scholarship(60 thousand per year), Dr Babasaheb Ambedkar scholarship and many more.

Campus Life

5

My campus experience is too good,in Fergusson there are so many cultural events every year happens.like annual fest called spandan happens every year which includes, saree day ,tie day, traditional day, departmental fest(,sankhya fest of maths department). Library is so big around 2 lakhs books and more in the library also the big reading hall is there . Computer rooms are also there above Library but I never used it. In classroom teachers sometimes used to teach on projectors. Sports ground is there, football court, badminton court is there. There is NSS ,NCC wing , cultural department is too good, every year so many events they oraganis even particular departments like Marathi,Hindi they too oraganise some events

Hostel Facilities

3

In hostel room mostly 2 sharing is provided with seperate bed and cupboard, there is no fan ,no electronic things allowed We have to bring our own table fan. U have to apply online for hostel then after confirmation u need to pay fees then they ask u to give adress of local gurdian too Rules of hostel are very strict, ther is very less in time like 7:30 pm and fees is bit large as compared to outside accommodation. Meal is good like 2 sabji roti and dal rice ,meal is seperately charged like 2800 per months for 2 times a day. I was staying in flat which I shared with 3 more people which I rented for 3.5 k per head and mess for 2k seperately.

Admission

I had applied to garware college only except Fergusson college,I'm not rejected by that college although my selection had done there but I wanted to take admission in Fergusson college only because it is the best college of Maharashtra for science and arts so . There is no entrance exam for my course, simply 12th grade passing is required, Admission process is simple like first u do online resistration then online application with all required documents then merit list got display then after your name came in merit list u have to do confirmation and select or confirm course then offline document verification is done ,that's it. My experience for admission was not good due to my own mistakes but my seniors helped me during so much .

Faculty

4

Faculty to student ratio is less like there is 1 teacher for 10-12 students, but the teacher to faculty relationship is good but there one teacher called Acharya sir , he is so strict and he stops anyone in between on campus or in class and asks them anything, everyone is scared of him.but other teachers like phatangare sir is very kind and humble and excellent teacher and others too are very approachable. In one semester there will be 4 exams which are ce1,ce2, practical exam and external exam.for mathematics as the course is bit difficult almost half of the people fail in 1subject,2 subject,3-4 but fir them teachers used to take reexams sometimes if it is internal exam for external exam they have given exam in next semester.

Course Curriculum Overview:

I have been thoroughly impressed with the course curriculum for its relevance and comprehensive approach to both theory and practice. One major aspect that influenced my decision to choose this course was its emphasis on practical application and real-world problem solving. The curriculum integrates current industry trends and case studies, which immediately appealed to me because it offers not only theoretical knowledge but also valuable hands-on experiences. The structure of the curriculum prepares students well for real-world applications and further academic pursuits. For instance, the course modules are designed to build a strong foundational understanding while progressively introducing complex topics. This approach ensures that students are capable of tackling challenging scenarios in professional settings and are well-prepared for advanced research or academic opportunities. The practical assignments, group projects, and internships provide direct exposure to industry practices and enable us to apply what we learn in a realistic context. Despite these strengths, there is always room for improvement. The course curriculum could further benefit from increased interactive teaching methods, such as more frequent workshops and peer-to-peer learning sessions. Incorporating regular seminars by industry experts would also add practical insights. Additionally, the frequency and timing of exams sometimes feel overwhelming. Although the exam difficulty level is fair and encourages a deep understanding of the material, scheduling them away from major project deadlines could alleviate some unnecessary stress. Overall, I find the curriculum to be robust and well-rounded. With a few adjustments in teaching methods and assessment schedules, it has the potential to become even more effective in preparing students for both professional challenges and advanced academic endeavors. In summary, the course curriculum excels in providing a balanced educational.
