Likes
- The college is in a serene location with a lot of greenery and mountains. Weather is quite nice all year round, except for one month in april when it gets really hot and humid.
- Campus life is great but the campus is quite far from the main city so do not expect a city night life.
- Infrastructure is nice and a lot more is being built. Professor to student ratio is 14:1 and they are well versed with their courses. Girls to boys ratio is 1:9
Dislikes
- Not many good food options available in the campus or nearby. Have to survive on packaged food.
Course Curriculum Overview
A Mechanical Engineering course provides a comprehensive foundation in principles of engineering, mathematics, and physics, along with practical problem-solving skills. The curriculum prepares students for the real world through various theoretical and practical experiences.
Internships Opportunities
Internship opportunities are many for circuital branches. For other branches they are there but less. Companies like Google, DEShaw, Rippling, Tata Steel hire interns and give them upto 3 lakhs for internship. Internship happens in the summer vacation of pre final year.
Placement Experience
Students are eligible for campus placements in their final year. Companies start coming from September end. The CDC of the college works very hard and already had confirmed 45 companies for the first phase of campus placements. Companis like Amazon, Money Forward, Zomato, Accenture, Havells, Quicksell, L&T, Reliance and many more. Highest package reaches upto 64 lpa, and PPO offers go upto 97 lpa.
Fees and Financial Aid
115690 per semester fee for general and obc candidates. 28900 fees for sc/st candidates. 18000 hostel mess fee. Lab fees, development fees, admission fees everything included in semester fee. Scholarships and fee remission available for ews, obc and sc/st candidates.
Campus Life
There are three annual fests, Alma Fiesta the Socio Cult fest, Wissenaire the Tech Fest and Entrepreneurship fest. They happen in March every year. Students from all colleges of Bhubaneswar attend these fests. There's a DJ night for each fest where big artists are called to perform.
Hostel Facilities
Single occupancy is provided meaning only one person lives in one room. One room has one bed, one chair, one table, one fan, one tubelight, 3 sockets and 1 balcony with a great view. The mess food is good mostly. Hostel is provided along with admission into any course.
Admission
IIT Bhubaneswar takes students for btech on the basis of their JEE Advance Rank. If you get a rank under 10000 you can get admission in IIT Bhubaneswar, for general candidates. IIT Bhubaneswar is a 2nd gen IIT so many people don't go for it in their first round of filling colleges. But if you don't have the rank for better colleges you can settle for IIT Bhubaneswar.
Faculty
Faculty to student ratio is 14:1, which is quite good. They are very approachable and amicable. They are always available in their offices or over mail or text or call. There are two exams in one semester, mid sem and end sem. Very few students fail the exams.
