What Students Say
Likes
- Fee structure, makes the course very affordable, even less than NLUs
- The location of the college is in the middle of the city, the facilities around are college are easily available such as mess. Pg etc
- There are practising advocates, teaching law subjects, there field knowledge is impeccable
Dislikes
- The infrastructure is really old, desperately needs renovation
- The basics of law school such as legal databases are scares, and the library is not well equipped
- The college is mostly concentrated towards studies there are barely any other events for cultural
Course Curriculum Overview
The curriculum is very well defined with all the subjects of any other law school in the country, the part the intrigued me the most is corporate law. The curriculum does prepare you for the legal world, as there is great emphasis on interpretation of law, and understanding bare acts Areas the college could improve upon is bring better faculty for the management subjects. The frequency of exams is normal, mid sem of 20 marks and the end sem of 60 marks, there is adequate time provided for the preparation of end sem, the schedule is mostly relaxed of end sem
Internships Opportunities
There are companies such as AZB partners and LKS partners and attorney who offer internships through college, but they require a very specific CV and not many students are able to secure it. There is not much stipend in the lower tier firms or internships but the top tier ones do pay some stipend. One needs to be consistent in every aspect to be able to secure a top tier internship, then only college provides the opportunity
Fees and Financial Aid
For BBA LLB there is no scholarship. But the fees is very reasonable with 10% increment every year. Whereas, for BA LLB. The fees is very less as there is scholarship for students who get higher rank in entrance test
Campus Life
This the portion where BVP lacks the most, the infrastructure is really old and desperately requires renovation. Same with the extra curriculum, there is nothing much happening apart from studies, the sports are conducted but are very centralised and doesn't have much participation. There are variety of cells to choose from, yet some of them are dead. The ones working are also very centralised to only few students. Overall the student life is nothing more than studies from the college side, there are few events year round but nothing that students would look upto
Admission
I applied to several colleges including BVP, Symbiosis, Amity. My top preference was Symbiosis law school Pune but I didn't get in, so the next best option was BVP. amity was a backup Admission process was very smooth. Entrance test was required and upon getting the rank, merit list was announced and if you were selected then you were called up admission which was also an east process Entrance exam was like of the other law school entrance exams, cutoff is moderate and there is high chance of admission, my personal experience of admission was very good the process was very systematic
Faculty
The faculty of the college is good, most of the teachers have doctorate or are practising lawyers, the teachers are approachable and are very helpful, specially are the teachers teaching subjects of law, are seasoned professionals. The faculty for management is not as good, maybe the reason being it's a law school hence, it majorly focuses on law subjects. The exams are moderate, the student putting in effort and studying can easily pass, failing ratio in more in law subjects, students do pass in the retest. The course curriculum is good, with moderately distributing the law subject across 5 years, with updates as per amendments in law such as introduction of BNS,2023
Other Applied Colleges
Amity University | Bachelor of Business Administration [BBA] + Bachelor of Laws [L.L.B.] {Hons.}
