Likes
- The college had knowledgeable teachers for higher class. And i think they should imporive in teaching for undergraduate courses. Not all teachers were that much good.
- My campus life was good. And campus was the only thing where we used to meet other faculty students also from college. So it was enjoyable and the ambience was also good.
- I liked the days we had every year. It was one of the best event in the Gokhale Education Society.
Dislikes
- I desliked how teachers used to favour their favorite students
- The classes were okay not that much of hight expectations
- I hated how less placements they used to have in the college. Which never helped for us.
Course Curriculum Overview
The course is easy to study and its also gives us basic knowledge about banking and finance and economics and accounts. So i chosed this course. Its helpful to easily understand banking and accounting terms outside in daily life. There should be more practical and theories foe study and in teaching methods. The timing for exams are enough.
Placement Experience
Placements are not that much in out college. We dont hear that much from college about Placements. After completing the course we dont actually get jobs. But we also have to do other courses like tally software or any account software. As its important if we want jobs in accounting. Last year of b.com students get eligible for campus placements. Some companies i heard which we got offer for placements were Bajaj finance snd Datamatics. Pwrcentage of students gettung placements were 2% only. My plans were pursuing for mssters degree after b.com
Fees and Financial Aid
The year wise fees that i paid was up to 780/- the tuition fees were 100/- the lab fees were 100/- other internal fees were 200/- if i remember correctly. Compulsory charges were 200/- i think. The open catoegry were having fees more than reserved catoegories maybe 2000/- . There was one scholarships and fresship concept. Financial aid i dont think so there was anything like that in the college. But yes merit list was obvious. And there was management quota after that.
Campus Life
My campus life was good. Nothing special. There were no clubs in our college except student council. The events that used to happened in our college were college days and annual gathering. Byk college was the best in whole Gokhale Education Society And other festivals we celwbrated were ganesh Chaturthi and events like vidhyarthini manch for girls where they presented their own art exhibition or dance performances etc. There were no technological provisions within the classrooms. The only sport i have seen in college was cricket. Other than sports there was NCC and NSS in our college.
Admission
I applied to kthm college and byk college for my admissions. And i got confirmed admissions from both the colleges but i choose byk college as i was in 11th and 12th in this college. I didnt get any rejection from any college. The admission process is very easy just we have to fill up the form given to us. But for those who are new will have to take admission through merit list. But as i was from this college only i just had to fill up the form and attached necessary documents mention their and as i was in reserved catoegory i had to fill scholarship form first and submit it first and then take admission. It was not lengthy but also time consuming as there were lots of students.
Faculty
The faculty to student ratio was 1:2. The relationship between them were good enough. Some were approchable and some not. There was no such liking for any faculty. But i think account and economy faculties were good. There were 2 exams each year. One internals and the other external exams. Internal exams were fo 20 marks and external 80 marks. There were lots of students who failed in 2 3 subjects. But overall the course is relevant for basicj knowledge of commerce.
