- The college security was inadequate; anyone could enter without much scrutiny, compromising safety.
Course Curriculum Overview
I choose MCA because it offers a master's degree with technical knowledge, which is highly valued today. The curriculum gave me basic DSA knowledge, but I had to learn ReactJS on my own, which led to my placement. The course helped, but some practical, in-demand skills were lacking. Techers need to take their job seriously; after securing government positions, they tend to become arrogant. The curriculum should focus more on relevant technologies instead of outdates ones like C programming. Timely course completion is crucial. As for exams, they were scheduled well and the difficulty was manageable.

The hostel fee is Rs.10000 (optional) with Rs.1000 as Hostel Caution Money. The total fee, including the the hostel is Rs.59350. For the second year you need to pay again the same amount depending upon the requirements of the hostel and mess. The mess charge is separated for the college fee as you have to pay Rs.8000 for the individual semester inorder to avail the mess facility. For 2nd year MCA (Lateral Entry), the total fees is Rs.16000 whic include the caution money and hostel charges. Scholarships are available as per the guidelines of Uttar Pradesh Government in which the parental income should below Rs.200000 and should not have any government job by parents. Fee waiver students only pay Rs.34350 in the first year covering minimal charges.
Campus Life
Annual and technical festivals include hackathons, essay writing contest, sports events, cultural activities, through the timing varies by college. The library offers a wide range of books and journals. Classrooms facilities were outdated, with small sizes and no air conditioning. Sports and extracurricular activities were available, but I was not personally interested. Student-run social groups, clubs and portals exist, but their impact on student life is unclear.
Hostel Facilities
I had a single seater room with an almirah rack, ceiling fan and bed. I had to arrange lights and study table by myself. The meal quality was excellent with unlimited varieties, offering something different each day. For hostel registration, meet the hostel manager a day before to check availability and fees, and provide the hostel fee receipt. Meals at the mess can be paid for directly. Many PG options are available in the area, costing around Rs.7000 per month for food and lodging, and are within walking distance from the college.
Admission
I applied only to KNIT, Sultanpur and got addmission there, I chose this college because it's ranked second in Uttar Pradesh for MCA, and the fees were affordable. I didn't apply to any other colleges as my UPSEE rank was good enough. No rejections happened since I didn't apply elsewhere. The admission process involves taking the UPSEE or UPCET exam. If your rank is under 300, you easily secure admission, while in spot councelling, even ranks around 600 can get in. Graduation with Maths and 60% marks is required. Spot councelling works on a first come first served basis, and not eveyone gets admission through that.
Faculty
In our MCA batch, there were about 60 students with 6 faculty members, but they were rarely approachable. Faculties were often absent from their cabins, didn't respond to calls and if found, they'd say to comeback later. The only faculty I liked was Mr.Ishwari Singh, who was understanding and spoke kindly to students, unlike the others who were arrogant, often demotivating, and even made racist remarks, like calling someone 'fat'. There was a lack of manners in general. The exam structure included two internal tests of 20 marks each, followed by a semester exam of 75 marks. The difficulty level was moderate, and most students could pass by studying a week in advance. Out of 60, only two stdutents failed. The course curriculum was quites relevant, providing essential knowledge for career growth.
