Course Curriculum Overview

2.5

Applying coding concepts in real life is the motivation behind me selecting this course. Curriculum is good but you need to do self study as this curriculum does not provide much exposure to real life problems. Teaching methods are good but industry visits and hackathons and coding competitions should be there for more exposure. Timings and frequency of exams are good and difficulty level is average

Internships Opportunities

2.5

Many companies like paypal, delloite, atlassian, cisco, amdocs and many more come here for providing internship for students with attractive stipend of 10000 to 100000. Project includes domain specification like blockchain, finteck, machine learning etc etc

Placement Experience

3.5

Campus placements are average. Many companies come here for recruitment process but it's upto you that you can make up to their expectations or not. Around 900+ companies visit the campus. Highest package was 54 lacs and lowest is 3.5-4 lacs. Software developer was the position for the package of 54 lacs. 75+% students get placed. My plan after getting the degree is to get a good job

Fees and Financial Aid

Cucet scholarship is provided by conducting an online test. I secured 25% scholarship of my total fees. The scholarship is for 1 year but to continue that, you have to maintain minimum of 7.5 cgpa. Total fees is 1 lakh 6 thousand and after my scholarship of 25% I pay 79500. Along with this tution fees, 2500 is charged as examination fees

Campus Life

4

Overall experience is good, infrastructure is very good. There are a lot of students run clubs related to cultural or academic events. Many extra curricular activities are offered on campus. CU fest is the annual fest is usually held in the month of April

Hostel Facilities

4

Hostel facility is quite good. They provide 3 time full course meal and one time snacks and tea. Menu includes omlette, sewian, bread, poha, puri, chhole bhature etc in breakfast, one veg and one dal along with raita and salad in lunch and same goes in dinner with sweet dish 3 times in a week. 4 bedroom sharing costs 1 lacs per year with personal bed box bed, shoe rack, almirah, study table, tubelight, switchboard and balcony. You have to apply for hostel on college's online site

Admission

To be honest I filled form for Chandigarh University, chitkara University and SRM University but seats were full in chitkara University and SRM was very far from my place so I chose chandigarh University. No I didn't get any rejection from any college. Admission process in my college includes online form and online test on the basis of which you get scholarship. Minimum 75% in 12th class is required for taking admission in my course.

Faculty

3

In labs, faculty to students ratio is 1:35 and in lectures, the ratio is 1:70. My most favourite faculty is my soft skills teacher Mr prabhjot singh sir as he is very kind hearted and supportive person. He understands me and I can approach him anytime for anything. There is no such faculty that I don't like because most of faculty is under the age of 40 so they understands the mentality of us. There are two mid semester exams which is of 20 marks each and of easy level. And at the end of the semester, there is end semester exams which is of 60 marks and of average level. Most of students clear the exams but some could not. They need to apply for reappear exam.

Google, NVIDIA and likewise many others who are planning to have their setup in Punjab are already hiring a lot of people from our college. So, placements median so far is close or a shade above 10 but obviously it will grow to 20 till our turn comes.

Course Curriculum Overview:

The curriculum changes as per the need of the industry norms so that student can attain knowledge about the basics as well as the niche technologies. This is the aspect to choose the course and the lab work and continuous competitions help us with the industry trends. The management could be improved. The frequency of exams help us learn well and difficulty is between easy to medium.

Placement Experience:

The student become eligible for campus placements from 5th semester. The companies visited per year are approximately 200. They claim 100% placements but in reality they divide students into placement and non- placement batches called tpp and ntpp. If you slip up even once, you will be debarred from the tpp group. The highest package is 53 LPA. The average package is 4.5 LPA. Companies like JP Morgan, TCS, Capgemini, PlaySimple, Cognizant, Nokia, Philips, Morgan Stanley, PWC, KPMG, EPAM, Watchguard, High radius, OYO, Coding Ninjas, Samsung, etc have already came. More companies are yet to come. Since the student intake is too much, placements are really hard to get since there is too much competition. In the end, people get hired in mass recruitment companies and get minimum pay of 3-4 lpa. My plans are apply for off-campus jobs and start working in corporate after the degree. If I don't get a job, I haven't decided what I will do next.

Placement Experience:

Though when I got admission in this college, I saw the placement rates were very nice, around 95%, but maybe it was our session's fault. I passed out in 2024, and in that particular year, the placements were not as expected and as seen in the previous batch, so that was something very much disappointing because I paid so much money on a degree, only everything was good about the college, but in the end, placement matters during my session. Usually, the companies that hired for example, 10 students only hired two students.
