Likes

The workshops, the conferences, the exhibitions and various guest lectures are always taken by our university
The infrastructure is really good with really good lab facilities
The placement is also nice in the campus and many students go for further studies

Dislikes

The mess facility of the hostel can be improved
The mess fees is high compared to other colleges in Goa and quality is not that good
The hostel rules are not same for boys and girls.

Course Curriculum Overview

I was always interested in Marine Biotechnology as I was obsessed with the Marine Life and this course also equivalent to the general biotechnology course. The special attraction is bioprocess technology subject, we get to learn many things like mushroom cultivation, alcohol production, etc

Placement Experience

From fourth semester, the students become eligible for campus placement. The molbio diagnostics, the tulip diagnostic, maca beer company and many more companies offers campus placement. Almost 40% students get placed every year.

Fees and Financial Aid

I paid approximately 13670 rs fees per year. The fees is given below 1. Tuition Fee (Yearly) 13670.00 2. Lab Fee/Computer Fee 1090.00 3. Annual Library Fee 630.00 4. Annual Internet Fee 610.00 5. Gym, Stud, Union Idenitity Card 580.00 6. Student Aid Fund 170.00 The fees is same for everyone We get monthly 5000 rs stipend as this course is DBT funded course.

Campus Life

The campus life is really good as the university conducts many events like college fests, many sports events. The university election is also quite attractive. It gives equal importance to studies as well as sports and cultural activities.

Hostel Facilities

The hostel fees is 6000 rs per year including the electricity, but the mess fees is quite high according to the quality of the food and the mess facility is expensive than other colleges in Goa. In girls hostel there are time restrictions but the boys don't have any restrictions as such.

Admission

I applied to many colleges and I got more than 15 colleges but I took admission in Goa University because for Marine Biotechnology, Goa University is one of the finest university in India. We cleared gat-B examination to get admission in Goa University.

Faculty

The faculty is really helpful and caring. They always solve all the problems of students. Very friendly staff, teaching as well as non teaching staff is really good. We have 4 ISA exams in every semester and one semester exam. Out of 4 ISA, the 3 ISA are compulsory

Goa University: An amazing experience

Bits goa brief review

Placement Experience:

The placements are very good because we have two compulsory internships called practice school to make us industry ready after the second year summer for 2 months and one semester in the 4th or 5th year placements start since 7th semester itself were most get offers in PPO thright the internships. 248 companies visited along with 631 students placed the average is 2083000 and median is 1650000. 76 percent of students got placed highest was 80lpa. I plan to get a job

BITS Goa - One of India’s Premier Institutes

Placement Experience:

Students can sit for placements in their final year. Many companies visit the campus for hiring drives. Companies like Google, Microsoft, Atlassian, Rubrik, Uber etc. These are some of the biggest IT names in the industry. There are companies that come for corre recruitment too. The highest and average packages are kept confidential. But if rumours are to be trusted, the highest package domestic is around 80lpa Atlassian whereas the average is around 24L for IT and 17L overall. More than 90% of the batch gets placed usually. I plan to work in the IT industry for a while. After that, I plan to go for Masters's's in Business Administration. It is all a plan for now, nothing is set in stone.

Admission:

A student needs to qualify the entrance exam of CSIR or UGC NET JRF and also a person is having basic qualifications with sufficient training of 2-3 months is necessary. Then one can apply for the application online. I fitted in the first one, so I got selected for the interview round which happens only once in a year. Luckily I cleared that also and got an admission in the institute.

BITS Pilani, It's magic

Remarks:

You love your life here and you're surely gonna miss it after the end of your course here. A downside here is the sex ratio which is there in any other engineering college of India. A upside is that there is no reservation here.

For the admission to the MSc Biotechnology program, I appeared in the Combined entrance examination conducted by the Jawahar Lal Nehru University (JNU) new Delhi. Based upon my score in the entrance test and my preferences for the course offered by Goa university, I got admission. I scored fairly well, I was the topper in my goa university batch (I could not know what score other 180 selected students got ).

After coming to BITS Pilani, Goa and spending some time over here, I can rarely speak anything bad about this campus. Everyone here is very helpful especially the seniors. The campus is so big and so well maintained that is is the place I am very happy to be at, just to give an example, our Cricket ground is maintained by BCCI, our campus has a tie-up with IEEE, TEDx, Google and any more.

Go BITS Goa, Gone!

Remarks:

BITS is one the top engg colleges in the country. It deveops the student as a whole. I already mentioned all the goods and the bads.One thing i would like to focus is regarsing our education system. Our system doesnt allow us to think logically and with our free mind. Our career decision are influenced by our parents and the amount of pay the career offers. Its only during our college life we finds our interests and passion. And sometimes its gets a little late.BITS although being the top engg. college, doesnt promote true knowledge and learning. Resulting in students to more worry about their grades than actually what they learned.
