What Students Say

Likes

Infrastructure is pretty good and the university is huge
Events occur regularly and many popular stars perform very often
Very diverse and students from a lot of states and countries

Dislikes

Rude guards and higher authorities. Behave very nicely at time of admission but after a year show their true colours
Vey hectic schedule and very few leaves . Dont even get holidays on Ganesh Chaturthi , Janmashtmi , Rakhi ,etc
Unnecessary fine on every small thing like id card , uniform ,etc

Course Curriculum Overview

Ciriculum has a lot of subjects . It becomes hectic to attend all classes . Apart from classes we have a lot of extra courses like courseera , Linked in , General Proficiency in every semester. A lot of quizes , surprise tests ,assignments are given .

Internships Opportunities

Many companies like infosys , Tech mahindra , etc come for internships and placements by the end of 3rd year the companies start visiting campus for placements , etc. Everry company has its own eligibility criteria.

Fees and Financial Aid

There is a cucat exam according to which scolarship is provided . it is from 10 percent to 100 percent according to your score. I got 30 percent. It is discontinued after 1 year if you fail to maintain 7.5 CGPA or get a backlog. The fee per sem when i joined was 106000 per sem but it is now increased by 10-15 k. Fee is less for students from Bihar as they get scolarship from government

Campus Life

A lot of fests and events take place in campus .Like Tashan nights , CU fest , Dj night etc. Every Block has its personal library . The technologies and classrooms are not so much advanced and are quite normal . Some old blocks are not so good in terms of infrastructure

Admission

I did not score much well in Jee so had choice of just going to a private college for computer science engineering. My parents did not want me to go far from home so i had only 3-4 choices in colleges . Chitkara was one of them . But CU was nearest so i chose it . Admission process is quiet simple you just have to call Reception and they will guide you. No. is available online on google

Faculty

A mentor is alloted to 30 students . On average a teacher teaches class of 60 students . The faculities are average but some have unnecessary attitude and are egoistic. Around 70 marks out of 100 are in hands of faculty . So they give marks to the students who butter them .So a lot of students fail in exam

Course Curriculum Overview:

The curriculum changes as per the need of the industry norms so that student can attain knowledge about the basics as well as the niche technologies.This is the aspect to choose the course and the lab work and continuous competitions help us with the industry trends. The management could be improved. The frequency of exams help us learn well and difficulty is between easy to medium.

Chandigarh University: Is it worth the investment?

Placement Experience:

The student become eligible for campus placements from 5th semester. The companies visited per year are approximately 200. They claim 100% placements but in reality they divide students into placement and non- placement batches called tpp and ntpp. If you slip up even once, you will be debarred from the tpp group. The highest package is 53 LPA. The average package is 4.5 LPA. Companies like JP Morgan, TCS, Capgemini, PlaySimple, Cognizant, Nokia, Philips, Morgan Stanley, PWC, KPMG, EPAM, Watchguard, High radius, OYO, Coding Ninjas, Samsung, etc have already came. More companies are yet to come. Since the student intake is too much, placements are really hard to get since there is too much competition. In the end, people get hired in mass recruitment companies and get minimum pay of 3-4 lpa. My plans are apply for off-campus jobs and start working in corporate after the degree. If I don't get a job, I haven't decided what I will do next.

Placement Experience:

Placements are good but I am more looking towards offcampus placements. I will do internships from my second year and in first year I'll make the base. I contacted to some of the seniors they said doing hardwork will definitely lead to a good package.

Placement Experience:

After 4 semester students are eligible for sitting in placements. There are alot of company visiting and alot of them take 2-3 with really good package and some handful with good enough packages of nearly10 lpa and the highest package was i think of in last month was of around 60 lpa . My plans after getting a degree is too work my way through companies to a FAANG Companies

From the second year itself students are eligible for campus placements and the companies right now visited are more than 80 + like Amazon Google Microsoft etc the highest package right now in our college 2.5 crore right now as a fresher more than 80% are getting placements which I can I can see and many used to start they own startups and get success in their field as help you teachers them and give them opportunity to learn and do startups and my plan after getting a degree is if you get a placement and huge packages and get a experience from them and to start my own business

My imperfectly perfect College life reviewed for everyone who needs it

Placement Experience:

Though when I got admission in this college, I saw the placement rates were very nice, around 95%, but maybe it was our session's fault. I passed out in 2024, and in that particular year, the placements were not as expected and as seen in the previous batch, so that was something very much disappointing because I paid so much money on a degree, only everything was good about the college, but in the end, placement matters during my session. Usually, the companies that hired for example, 10 students only hired two students.

Chandigarh University: Is it worth the investment?

I didn't apply to any other college. I chose it because it was close to my home. The admission process to give CUCAT exam for which the fees is 1000 rupees. The passing marks are 40 out of 100.
