- Very qualified and professional faculty. Most professors are very experienced in their field.
- Support for R&D. The college has a very active research department and they have good funding for students to undertake research projects.s
- Good lab facilities. There are many high tech labs with sever rooms that have insane computing power.
Dislikes
- There's terrible wifi in the campus that rarely works.
- The canteen is the most below average canteen you can find.
- The peer group. A good percentage of the students don't care about what they are doing in life.
Course Curriculum Overview
We follow the VTU curriculum, but my juniors now study and anutonomous curriculum. I saw their syllaus and they actually teach very relevant things. Theres a good balance of theory and Labs. Way more flexible that VTU's dated syllabus
Internships Opportunities
There are over 10 companies that actually have their offices on campus itself. Several R&D and aerospace companies. They provide internships to students with an industy standard stipent. But it does get competetive. Most students are able to get an internship.
Placement Experience
Placements begin from the 6th semester. So students typically start giving interviews from the 7th semester. They take their placement training very seriously which is given free of cost. They impose very heavy fines on missing even a sigle hour of placement training.
Fees and Financial Aid
I got in throught the KCET counselling. Process was very straigtforward. The annual fee for students who apply throught KCET is fixed by the Govenrment. My fees for the period 2021-25 was fixed at 1,05, 060 annually which includes the college skill development fee. Some students from management quota take an education loan, and even apply for SSP Govt scholarships. The fee for the management quota is very varied. I've heard numbers from 2.5 lakhs to as high as 9 lakhs per year, depending on their 12th percentage.
Campus Life
There are plenty of clubs, but very often you need to friends with a few people to get into the. Theres a 3 floor library, plenty of sports facilities, even and indoor court and gym. You get free access to every scientic journal on campus. Theres a cultural fest every 2 years.
Admission
People typically enter through KCET, COMEDK. They also accept JEE Mains rank. Admission process was quick and straighforward. I chose this college because of its location and closeness to the highway. It has decent placements, good faculty.
Faculty
Every department has about 15 to 20 teachers. Most teachers are helpful and open to dialogue, except a few strict ones in the basic sciences department. One of the best faculty in the college is Dr. Antony Louis Piriyakumar who is the Dean of R&D. he has an excellent research experince and helps students undertake R&D projects and publish papers.
