A journey through IISER Tirupati

The admission process of IISER tirupati or any IISER is through a national exam, that is, IAT (IISER ADMISSION TEST). The questions are from Physics, Chemistry, Biology and Maths of class 11th and 12th. The level of questions are easy to moderate and are more into experimental and critical thinking. The cuttoff varies each year. The admission experience was too easy and convenient for me. I got medical college but I choose this college because of my research interest in my field. The course of this college is vast and includes many subject and topics, which I can choose according to my interest. In other colleges, the subjects are compulsory. So basically admission is done through National level exam that is IAT (don't confuse with IIT). IAT that means IISER Admission Test. The application fees is Rs1000 (it may vary). So the syllabus is Physics, chemistry, biology and maths. Fresher, dropper and double dropper are eligible to give exam. The eligibility for admission is minimum 75% in 12th Boards IISERs conduct the IISER Aptitude Test every year and application starts around April-May. The application form fee is around ?1500-2000. You can find more detailed information on the iiser aptitude test website. Reserved categories get benifit of paying lesser application fee& admission fees as well as 50% seats in all IISERs reserved for Ews/OBC/SC/ST/KM etc. The entrance exam level is more or less compared to JEE and other equivalent national level exams. Those who have passed their 12th class can apply but only while studying 12 th and after passing 12th, one can appear iiser aptitude . It does not matter whether you are a biology or math student . You can attend both math and bio section in test it is best . But if you dont know anything about math or biology you can skip the entire section . I got 11500 overall rank and 700 category rank(sc).
