Course Curriculum Overview

4

the cirriculum is very vast and it feels like doing a bsc in biology ,chemisty ,physics, maths of first year all at the same time .which definetely is difficult and puts u under the same pressure like preparing for any entrance test. but u get to eplore ur field of inrest before choosing ur majors and as well opting for interdisiplinary majors

Fees and Financial Aid

The mentioned fees include hostel fees and my seat acceptance fees(SAF) for this year. Without the SAF it would be Rs.102804 which again includes my hostel fees too and all other fees except for food. we have pay and eat system so food is not included in any of our fees, it varies person to person considering how much and what the individual eats.on avg it add up to Rs.7000 per month. As for scholarships a lot of people avail scholarships like INSPIRE,scholarships from NSP based on merit as well as reservation and various other external scholarships that mostly covers all our fees except for food. the fee structure does increase year by year but not more than 5000.

Campus Life

4

the population is very less that including all batches it is less than 2000 members. we have club activities every now and then, college fest once a year, a common science day and respective days like phy day, chem day etc.all festivals are celebrated as we have a very diversified population which means that there are people from almost every state of india, we have top class lecture halls but the main library is still under construction we have two smaller libraries ,the main huge library bust be opend somewhere in 2025.the lab facilities are very good needs no comparison. we have inter isser sports meet and cultural meet every year too.sport and culturals are given importance. we also go to iit tirupathi which is very close to iiser to have matches

Hostel Facilities

4

the hostel is pretty spacious with only two occupancies available.since it is an fully residential campus u cant rent room or pg outside . as for food we have two mess a north and south mess which offers u a menu with variety of food and u pay for what u choose to eat .hostel fees ia also included in clg fees which add to rs3000 per year

Admission

i got admitted via iiser aptitude test which is the only mose of admission.one of the main advantages of choosing iiser are its exposure to esearch and it being a research institute with most of the faculties being renowed scientists in various fields. everybody gets to explore their field of intrest before choosing a major in 4th semand option to opt for interdisiplinary majors.

Faculty

4

the teacher student ratio differs for each year as we choose our major only in 4th semester .until tht all our batch are taught together which will be 1:273 . as im just in 1st sem I'm not fully aware about existing faculties but as aspiring scientist we have great researchers in the campus. even our professors are primarily researchers rather than teaching staffs so the exposure we get towards research and deveopment is excellent. we usually have 2 quizes, mid sem and an end sem which is relatively graded. the exams difficulties is above average but since even if an individual is pcb or pcm students in 12th ,it'll be mandatory to study math an dbio for all in first 3 sem which would be difficult.

Night Life

4

the campus is mostly active in night time provided we have classes in morning most club activities take place late in the evening or night nost plls are awake atudying,we also have a night mess the functions till 1.00.we have gyms, libraries and a lake view cafe which is my favourite hanging spot. clg intime is around 7pm and hostel around 9 but u can still go to get food and no noise shld be made after 10.00

Course Curriculum Overview:

The course curriculum of BSMS course is good and every year its getting better. The curriculum is vast and we have many options in every field. I choose this course as I was very much interested in Research and loves to gain depth knowledge in my interest field. The course is made according to CSIR-NET, GATE exams and other national exams for higher study. This course gives knowledge from depth to advanced research and provides a greater impact in the research life and process. The teaching methods are already good. The frequecy of exam is good and also not hectic. The level of difficulty is easy to moderate.

Course Curriculum Overview:

The main reason why i chose this course is because it provided me an opportunity to explore research field very openly and provided me with an opportunity to do research work in and outside the labs of IISER Tirupati. However there was no direct campus placement atleast for biology majors in IISER Tirupati.

Course Curriculum Overview:

First of all, BSMS is an integrated course and in this course, you will learn all the aspects of science from depth to a greater levels. The subjects are made according to national exam syllabus. Everything is great here. For the first 2years, you will learn all subjects maths, physics chemistry and biology. In 3 rd year we got the option for major. Here taking one minor subject is compulsory and this will also help u in refreshing your mind. Exams: they don't ask direct questions or theoretical concepts directly, i fact they will ask you experimental questions so that you can think like a researcher. We have 2 quiz, one mid sem and end sem. Frequency is better for us.

Course Curriculum Overview:

The courses in IISERs are mostly Research based and focus is on modern scientific technology. We have one of the best undergraduate as well as advance laboratories in all aspects of science for World class research The relative grading system is quite harsh some times, awarding lesser grades when there is huge competition in specific courses. Grades fluctuate by 1-2 marks. There is continuous evaluation system to ensure we study through out the semester.

Everything you are being taught is usefull throughout the course. And there are a lot of exms going on . Teaching methods are not advanced . Green boards and projectors, ppt that's it . There may be you get one or two faculties who will make your paradigm change rest of them are old school teachers Teachers should focus more on basic understanding not only in completion of syllabus
