Course Curriculum Overview

4.5

The course curriculum is pretty good and it covers almost all the topics in general. In first and second semester we will be learning about the basic subjects such as chemistry, physics , maths , civil mech, mechanics, graphics etc. So any students who have completed 12th grade can easily cope up with subjects because it's easy to relate to. Majority of the things in chemistry, physics and maths are being taught in 12th grade. We also labs for chemistry and physics. Other subject we study are c-programming, life skills and professional communication. In c- programming we will be learning the basics and we'll be Dong lab for the same. Professional communication and life skills teaches the basic qualities we have to have and what all we have to do to improve ours elves.

Internships Opportunities

4.5

Many companies are welcome us for many internship programs and we can choose from a wide variety of programs offered to us. The internship mainly comes through these tech groups such as IEEE and IEDC etc. We also used to have online and offline internship programs and stipends comes from anywhere around 5k to 15k. Some companies provide stipends along with hands on experience in their company.

Placement Experience

3.5

The placement in our college is pretty good , but not so fancy. The companies are coming and giving offers but MNC are not approaching the college. It's like majority of the companies who come are startup's and the companies which have visited in the previous years. It's somewhat because of the recession that companies are not approaching. They give a basic package and it is somewhat good .

Fees and Financial Aid

The college of engineering , Chethala as like other college under KTU as the same fees structure for the courses provided. The fees structure can be classified based on the following criteria mentioned below: 1. State merit 2. Management quota The students coming under state merit has to pay the fees which is lower than the management quota, that is students who have earned a favourable rank can avail seats in these govt college and fees will be comparatively less. So basically state merit students have to pay around 20,000 as tuition fees and around 2700 as exam fees. Management quota students have a slight different structure such that their tuition fees comes around 35000 and exam fees is same as 2700. The students coming under SC/ST doesn't have to pay any fees like tuition fees. They can avail egrantz scholarship and govt will pay the tuition fees to them. At the time of admission, around 10k for PTA and 5k for college development has to be given. Hostel fees is around 5300 .

Campus Life

4.5

The overall experience provided in the campus is good , it's really healthy. There are many clubs like NSS, IEDC and IEEE which provide opportunities for all people to come and experience the working and to work together as a team. Many activities and workshops will be held under these groups. Apart from these , many workshops, tech talks , tech fest, arts and sports are being held . For these activities we can see a pretty good amount of participants.

Hostel Facilities

4

The hostel facilities are provided by the college and is a decent facility. Although it doesn't have any warden but they are maintained properly. The food provided are also pretty good , that is we can have a good meal for three times a day. Some hostel provide food at their place while some are provided in the hostel canteen. The fees for hostels are around 5300 per month which includes rent and mess fees.

Admission

I opted this college because this college offers course in artificial intelligence and data science. There are less govt colleges which provide BTech in AI &DS. Moreover this college provides good results in the past year and has been on top 20 for many years. This college gives equal importance to both cultural and academical activities. In the IHRD college in Kerala this college is in the 2nd place because of the good results. The admission process is very simple , once we have cleared the KEAM exam we can opt for the colleges and once the allotment starts we will be placed in colleges, if we want to change the option or college we can always opt for another allotment.

Faculty

5

The faculty members are good when compared to other colleges. They have a string mindset to make their students learn. All staffs has a good helping mentality and are open to any suggestions. We have a faculty review program , where we can review our teachers and what needs to be improved. Basically we have 3 exams in total for one semester, they are two series exams which are of 50 marks each and the last semester exams which are 100 marks. To pass in series we have to get 18 out of 50 and for Sen exams we have to get 40 on 100.

Campus placements are highly volatile taking the stats from over the past three years there has been an up trend as well a down trend, I hope I will get placed through on campus interviews, the highest package of this year was for two graduates who got into IBM with 22 lakhs per aanum, there are few who didn't get into any of the companies while there were others who got int Amazon and other reputated companies, if I do not get into a reputed company through my college on campus placements the. I'll be aiming for higher educations most probably
