What Students Say
Likes
- The college defanitly have a free vibe about, though its not as flashy as other colleges but it does the job
- The students from all the branches and years are super friendly which creates a ragging free atmosphere
- Though its not as supportive of sports activities it does have a huge ground, badminton court and an abandoned volleyball court
Dislikes
- The college infrasrtucture is almost primitive and its not upto date as other colleges .
- The college staff and facility does not support the arts programs and they like to run it in a old fashioned way and has the their grip tight on the programs
- The college does not have a paved pathway connecting its cs branch and its main building.
Course Curriculum Overview
The curriculum is designed to teach you the basics of software engineering (for cs branch) and they do an ok job at it but the syllabus is outdated and they are not efficient in teaching the students industry-relevant skills and they try to push the internships and various other external options on to you but that doesn't solve the main issue. but there has been a revision of the course recently is hoped that this solves the issues with the current curriculum. the new revised curriculum is still not applied so we don't know the extent of the revision.
Internships Opportunities
The internship opportunities are not available until you pass the 2nd year or so but there are a lot of workshops available and the staff does their best to forward it to the students. as of now, i am still in my 3rd semester so I am not eligible for the internships.
Placement Experience
The placements are available from the 8th semester and you have to be eligible ( should not have any supplementary exams left). there are many companies that come to my college including Federal Bank, Wipro, ey, etc the highest package is 4 lacks per annum and the median is 3 lacks I mean to get a job from the placment cell available in our college but I am also willing to go on my own preferably a startup from which I can get experience directly working on the project and get to the hardships that follows starting a company so that one day if i decide to i would have some reference
Fees and Financial Aid
The fee structure is pretty much fixed it's neither increasing nor decreasing. The fee structure for the management seat which I am part of is around 60,000 per year and the additional fees that you pay on the date of admission are around 30,000 and it includes things like exam fees, PTA fund, library fees, etc(basically a lot of miscellaneous stuff) and you have to pay a PTA fee every year. The fee structure for regular students is around 40,000 per year and they have to also pay additional fees upon admission. There is a grant opportunity for lesser caste students which enables them to have a scholarship that alleviates fees some or all fee payments.
Campus Life
The campus life pretty much damp and a lot of external activities are going on all the time and ist mainly jsut attending lectures , labs and going home. There celebrations like onam and christmas other than that there is an arts festival and sports day the technological facilities available are the bare minimum for a college of this reputation. teh faculty does not support club activities that much.
Hostel Facilities
The hostel facility is actually pretty affordable but the food is the bare minimun. the rooms are ok but that's not the case for all the students the hostels are located near the college itself. the food is mostly tasteless but the food can be trusted The hostel does have wifi but ist mostly unusable because of the speeds
Admission
I personally choose this college becuse its a ihrd college and its got a consistant record of the placemenst and records and it also has NAC accreditation. the students of this college had a pretty good pass-out rate and I had heard a great deal about this college from people that I know. I had applied to other colleges as well but I got rejected because I did not have enough rank to make it to those colleges. The entrance exam needed for admission here is keam and you must be a 12th-class science pass out too.
Faculty
The faculty members are ok and they are adamant in doing their jobs. And they try their individual best to help the students in things related to the course. The course is a four-year course and it has about 8 semesters and the first and second semester a common semesters that almost all engineering students have to study. the first and second semester are now revised and no longer does the students have to study the subjects that are no longer needed for the respective steam. The cousre is handlelable and the exams are i wouldnt say easy but handlable.
