- The college is located a little far from mainland Mumbai, making it difficult for students living in Central and Western side to travel on a daily basis.
Course Curriculum Overview
The course curriculum is industry-relevant. Various subjects of multiple domains need to be opted for by students such as Python, Java, Data Structures, Data Science, UI/UX Design, Full Stack, Business Accounting, Share markets, etc. Extra certificate courses are also provided by the college for skill credits (It is paid). Students need to complete a minimum of 12 credit points by the end of the third year.
Internships Opportunities
Every year various companies visit the college as a part of internship fair at college. Students of FY SY and TY can participate in the same and can give a walk-in interview to show their potentials to the employers. Mainly many startups visit the college and provides internship to students on various domains ranging from financial advisory to graphic designing.
Placement Experience
Students are eligible to sit for campus placements in their 5th or 6th semester. Various companies like Deloitte, Accenture, Capgemini, TCS, Wipro, etc visit the campus every year. The average package ranges from 2LPA-5LPA. A good amount of students get placed from each department.
Fees and Financial Aid
The fee for FYBCA (2023 batch) was 75550 and for SYBCA (2023 batch) was 78430. Scholarship is also provided to students based on specific criteria. There is special fee repayment for reserved categories.
Campus Life
The college is famous for its fest like Yaariyan, Alegria. The infrastructure of the campus is pretty good with well lit smart classes. The teaching is done though traditional white board and marker method. Audio visual formats are also used wherever required. The college provides a good mix of extra curriculars and multiple associations and committees are available which students can join based on their interest.
Admission
BCA was introduced at Pillai college in 2023. This course was not available in other colleges of my locality. This was the only college I have applied for in Mumbai. The admission procedures were also quite simple, as we were required to fill a online or offline form, wait for the cutoff list which was based on our 12th percentage.
Faculty
Faculties are quite approachable. During and after lecture hours, they are available to solve the doubts of students. Almost all of them are highly skillful and knowledgeable in their respective domains. There are 2 semesters in a year. Semester end exam is of 60 marks, continuous assessment - 1 of 20 marks, continuous assessment - 2 of 20 marks, practical examination 50 marks and 5 marks for attendance.
