Course Curriculum Overview

4.5

Being a Doctor is everyone's dream and I was amazed to know I will be a part of this esteemed line of service. There is always gonna be a need for a doctor. The only thing is being a better doctor, there is always respect and money in being a doctor. It feels nice to be a savior to someone. Interacting with patients on a daily basis improved my communication skills. Teaching is almost the same in every medical college and my college is no exception. As such there is no need for many improvements The frequency of examinations conducted is organized and well-planned. The papers are difficult and It tests us to be better and I have no issue with it in general.

Internships Opportunities

5

After completing our 4 years of MBBS, there is a compulsory Internship in the same hospital for a year for training purposes. We get skilled in managing patients and we learn basic procedures too. I have been visiting OPD due to postings and I've seen interns working hard.

Fees and Financial Aid

I'm a 2nd Year MBBS student at SMMH Medical College Saharanpur. As it is a Govt college it is really affordable. The fee structure of our college is 27000+6000+10000 27k for college fees 6k for hostel fees 10k towards caution money for Reservation fees is 17000+6000+10000 10k for college fees 6k for hostel fees 10k towards caution money there won't be any increment in fees till at least my course ends and that will be around 2027.

Campus Life

3.5

There are not many festivals celebrated here, most of the festivals are celebrated within hostels as we don't get permission to organize many of it. We do celebrate Republic Day, Independence Day and Dr BR Ambedkar Jayanti with full enthusiasm in this college. There is no clubs, not that I know of any. The campus is peaceful with a provided Ground for sports, and a public garden in front of our OPD which needs maintenance.

Hostel Facilities

5

One major advantage is that we have separate rooms from 1st year onwards and there is privacy too. We are alloted a bed matress and a chair. A sweeper mops the corridors from time to time. Two water coolers is installed on every floor and 4 washrooms on each corner on every floor. Mess quality is decent and nothing to complain about as well. If someone doesn't want to live in hostel which is very rare but have to rent nearby, it's also affordable for 2000 rupees/month very close to the college

Admission

During my counselling for MBBS this College ranked 11 out of some 40 other medical colleges in U.P and i made a good decision which i don't regret upon. Apart from heat and cold conditions I'm very much happy with my college. I chose 20 colleges in counseling and i was admitted into this college. When i arrived for my admission, I was a bit nervous but they helped me with everything. Firstly i had to fill my form and do a medical checkup then they made me sign a bond for not vacating the seat, and lastly paying fees and i was enrolled into this course within a timespan of 3-4 hrs. In 2022 the high cutoff of GMC Saharanpur was 646-621 for general/OBC 500-439 for SC 300-270 for ST (State Quota)

Faculty

4

for every department faculty is ranged between 10-15 HoD 3-4 Professors 4-5 PG JRs 2-3 Non PG JRs Exams are held as 2 Internals Pre Proff exam and a Professional exam some professors are very supportive and all JRs are supportive. HoDs are not that interested in curriculum and they are not every reachable

Interview Experience

4.5

We do have Group discussions in every department in every year of our course. These are not price oriented but we do get Internal marks for it. We are assigned into groups of 5 and given certain topics to be prepared for presentations. We make PowerPoint presentation of it. From learning point of view its really educational. There are no rounds just simply presenting our presentation and there has to be a slide of certain questions related to the topic which the professors ask to the remaining audience.

Course Curriculum Overview:

When I was in 2nd class then on report card I have to write which is your aim in future or what you want to become in future . Then there I I choose that I want to become a doctor and from then I I have dream that I become eligible doctor . Second doctor is very noble profession and it is my honour that I am serving the people and save the lives of the people . This profession teaches me a lot like how to cope with the situations and how to react very quickly in every situation . It help us to improve our skills and also our mental health and makes a strong mentally and emotionally .. I should suggest that there is a improvement in online lectures also provided for the MBBS course because there is little bit difficulty in the college to go there and study there because some scarcity of faculties in the college so qualitative education is not provided as it should be provided. The MBBS course offers four exams which are little bit hard to clear and there is little difficulty in clearing the exam. The timing of the exam is from 9:00 a.m. to 12 p.m.. The terminal occurs at the gap of 3 months while the pre professional exam and the professional exam occur at the gap of 1 month.

Course Curriculum Overview:

It was my dream destination career wise to choose MBBS . MBBS connects you to life and death the two most important aspects of being a human on this planet . Having a power to cure someone and make people smile and live again with health is something else. As in our India the population to doctor ratio is very less hence it's important for the young generation to understand and evaluate the decision of serving the country this way. MBBS is dream for many but reality for very few students all over the country. But the people reaching here face toxic culture also , as prestigious it is as disturbing sometimes it becomes , people over here do not understand the mental health of others So this aspect should be taken in to care and medicos should be handled with care by the society, government and also the seniors . The exams are big rat race , but it's really satisfying as a reader as you get to study and read a lot about medicine . So choose MBBS but not toxicity make your mind that you ll make it beautiful for yourself and also for your batchmates and juniors as well .
